I realized afterwards that my camera's microphone wasn't picking up the music from a distance but you do hear it when my hubby gets closer to where I'm standing. It is more than loud enough when you're standing there or riding it, you can trust me on that.

Now if you or no one in the family has ever tried out a hoverboard before here are a few tips we'd like to share from our own experiences:
- Make sure your hoverboard is charged, plan about 1.5 hours ahead of time from when you want to first ride it to ensure it's fully charged.
- Have knee pads, elbow pads and a helmet. I know we didn't show that in the video but safety first especially for the kiddos
- Be prepared to try out the hoverboard in short spurts. It's a workout on the legs as you try to balance and manoeuvre
- Start out on a flat surface, don't go for those hills right off the bat
- Download the app in advance so you're ready to rock n' roll or whatever you music you like 😉
- Be safe and just have fun!

What did we think?
Cons
We don't feel there are any big cons, it's a sturdy machine, powerful enough, rugged and has all of the features we looked for and more. Here's a few minor things though.
- Might be too heavy for smaller sized kids/tweens to carry outside themselves. I say this because my daughter is petite for her age and it was heavy for her to carry.
- It is powerful which is great but something to think about that is not suitable for young children and it does say for 13+. However, we don't always go just by the age we go by their size and maturity level. Parents know what their children are capable of but we do say not for very young on their own for sure to try.
- The app had some difficulty at first pairing with our phones for the bluetooth speaker capabalities.
Likes
- Overall we're impressed with the quality of the Gotrax Hoverfly XL Hoverboard. It's well built, solid and has some nice features. The bluetooth speaker has decent sound and the hoverboard is easy to maneuver.
- We've tried out other hoverboards and for the price point the Gotrax Hoverfly XL Hoverboard gives you a lot of bang for your buck so to speak. It has the quality and features of more expensive hoverboards.
- It's a good size for children to adults and well built to accommodate the various ages and sizes.
- Overall it's a fun machine built for safety that would make a great gift any time of the year. Hence why it made it onto our Holiday Gift Guide!

I got my grandson a Hoverboard for Christmas. He loves it but over the last couple of days I can see things that I wished I had researched more and made a more informed decision over the board I chose. His has 6.5 wheels instead of 8 and they are not rugged terrain, off road tires. Both would have made more sense for where we live. I guess we live and learn. I'll know more about what to look for when he's ready for a new board.
Neither of my kids are interested in a hoverboard. I have some reservations about the safety anyway. Maybe I've just seen to many videos of people falling off these.
My granddaughter has one of these and she rides it everywhere. The larger tires are a lot safer than the one with the smaller tires she used to have.

I'd definately have to wear protective gear until my balance was ok but then even after a helmet is good.

I love that it has a beginner mode. I also appreciate that all electrical aspects of this have been tested and approved for safety. I also like that the tires do not slide. This is something I am looking into for my daughter.

My grandson has been wanting one of these for a year now. At first I was skeptical but after reading about them more I think they sound like they would be fun only if they stay away from traffic and wear a helmet and take precautions for the riders safety.

This is such a great hoverboard I like the non-slip foot pads, Bluetooth and built in speakers.
I think this would be so much fun but I am afraid I might fall. I see them around town and the kids go really fast I am not sure if I could do this. This has got to be one of the most safety conscious company out there nowadays! You have thought about more features than I have, including the electric safety features! This is also on a couple of my grandkids Christmas lists too. I have been hesitant in the past about buying these products, but this article has put me at easy! I love that your able to listen to music while enjoying your ride. These tires look and sound awesome especially after seeing all the pine needles. As a parent our children are our number one priority and safety is always so important when purchasing products for my family. I love the fact that this is a hover board I'd feel safe in letting my children use. I also love the fact that hubby and I can also enjoy this product just as much as the children! Yay! a 220 weight limit would be NOT limiting a lot of kids out there who are not small kids. That's pretty cool. I am happy to see it has lights AND has them on front and back. I also like it has a "training" mode. I'd need the training wheels on for a whole. haha. My grandson would LOVE to have this. so amazing what new things are out there for kids (and even grammies now)

It looks well made and durable. I like that it has a higher maximum weight limit, some are on the low side not allowing bigger adults to enjoy trying them out. I want one 🙂
