Have you ever heard of oil pulling? I hadn’t until just a few months ago. I have used coconut oil for a long time and I was talking to my mom about it when she mentioned oil pulling and how great it was. I made a mental note to try it, but of course I kept forgetting about it. Then recently I was given the opportunity from GuruNada to try their oil pulling, I couldn’t just say no.
After reading up on pulling oil, I learned that it is based on 5,000 year old Ayuvedic science. It is best to do the pulling soon after waking up in the morning before you eat or brush your teeth. It’s really really easy to use, you put one to two teaspoons in the little medicine cup (they even provide) and then swish it around in your mouth and then spit it out. I will warn you, if you haven’t tried it before it will seem weird and you probably won’t last long before spitting it out. Just keep trying it, after awhile you will get used to it and you will keep it in longer and longer. with what I have seen and learned it’s probably better to spit into the garbage than into the sink. Do not swallow the oil as it is probably full of bacteria, which is the whole point of why you are doing the pulling.
GuruNada used a blend of sesame oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil and peppermint oil. I have chronic nausea so peppermint oil helps me at times, I love that it is included peppermint. Plus it will help your breath smell better.
Pulling oil has been knows to help many issues like the following and many more:
- Weight loss and proper digestion
- Better breath
- Healthier teeth and gums
- Thicker, more lustrous hair
- Radiant skin (it can help relieve skin problems, like eczema, rashes and irritation)
- Mood, concentration and focus improvement
So, if you are interested in trying this, I suggest you check out GuruNanda and try theirs. While you are there, you can check out all the other products that they have. Pulling isn’t expensive at $14.99 for a 8.45 oz bottle and can be purchased on Amazon.
