About Powered by Mom

  1. Darlene Owen says:

My suggestion is not to shampoo too often.

  2. I wash my hair only every 2 or 3 days to prevent it from getting too dry.

  3. Eileen Richter says:

Dont wash every single day and keep your dryer on warm, not hot. Also, do NOT go outside with wet hair in the winter…at least in Wisconsin

  4. Holly Kennedy says:

Don’t overwash and I like to use a little coconut oil through it after a shower at night,

  5. Cassandra D says:

I trim my hair every few weeks to get rid of the split ends. I also use a deep hair treatment every once in awhile.

  6. Tammy Kennedy says:

My family stated I was getting more grey/white hair and it was making me look older
I just turned 59 in november, that being said I colored my hair as close to the original color well the new growth was white so I decided to go blond, so every 3 weeks ( since july) I colored with a light blond but was not getting light enough so finally i did the plunge and bleached it platinum blonde which is really white so then 3 days later dyed it to give it a off white tone….
So that’s a lot of abuse but with conditioners and the fact that once a month I put conditioner on my dry hair (whole head) and put plastic shower cap on then wrap head in towel and sleep with conditioner on all night, hair except for very ends (hair is at my waist)
is good condition, soft and shiny ends are dryer then I like but working on them
Don’t wash hair daily.. and condition hair once and month leaving it in over night… and once a week before shampooing put conditioner on first then shampoo, then condition…

  7. Michele Cupp says:

I use a leave in conditioner, especially during the winter, to help keep my hair from getting too dry.

  8. Lacie Love Hester says:

My tip is after rinsing shampoo out of your hair spray it with a concoction of 3 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 cup of water solution and let it set for 2 minutes. Rinse out and then put your normal conditioner and rinse again. If makes your hair look shinier and healthier.

  9. My best tip is to not put too much conditioner on my hair, I just use a small amount and my hair doesn’t get heavy or oily.

  10. Washing my hair and using conditioner.

  11. Laurie Nykaza says:

I try to keep my hair conditioned and cut often too so it dosent look bad. I wash my hair every few days not to dry it out.

  12. Don’t wash or dry your hair every day. Let it air dry now and then.

  13. I find that washing my hair every other day keeps it healthier looking. I do thoroughly wet it on days that I don’t wash it so I can style it.

  14. LOL — I overcolor, brush when wet, swim in chlorinated water, delay too long between trims, and use a straightening iron. I’m the worst person in the world to offer advice on this topic! Basically, just don’t do what I do.

  15. Deep conditioning at least once a week & taking Omega 3s

  16. Ina Fowler says:

  17. Tara Liebing says:

I keep my hair healthy by not dying my hair a lot, don’t use flat iron or blow dryer much on my hair either.

  18. Annamarie V says:

I try to limit heating tools on my hair so I don’t do too much damage to it.

  19. Char Pollard says:

Always use a heat protector on your hair when you blow dry or flat iron it!

  20. Sandy Cain says:

My tip is never to BRUSH wet hair. Always gently comb, starting from the bottom. Wet hair is so fragile – brushing will break it off.

  21. Tara Zarecky says:

Do not overwash your hair or blow dry too much.

  22. Conditioner is your friend, even when. You think your hair is oily, dry scalp will cause oils to come out to protect yourhair.
