HalloweenMall.com

in Family and Home on 07/27/12

As many parents already know costumes are not just for Halloween anymore. So many little girls and boys love to dress up. Even my 10 year old daughter and her friends still like to dress-up which amazes me that they’re still interested in doing that. However for them gone are the days of dressing up as a Princess now they want to be cheerleaders, vampires, zombies and anything gruesome is usually a hit 🙂

As a mom who is not very good at sewing (I wish) I have to buy costumes when I can and as many of us know that doesn’t always come cheap! I recently had the pleasure of checking out HalloweenMall.com which is actually a search engine for finding costumes! It’s a wonderful concept, through them you can find a multitude of costume stores, just take your pick. They’re there to make it easy for you to find the costumes and accessories that you want.

HalloweenMall.com also provides excellent videos for sizing to choose the right size costume for men, women, boys & girls they have a video to cover each one. I found the videos to be extremely helpful. They also have a monthly contest where the winner gets a $65 gift card for BuyCustumes.com. Y

They also have a free e-book written by a mom for moms! I’ve read through the e-book and I wish I had this book when my daughter was first old enough to hang with friends on Halloween and for all those Halloweens where we couldn’t always afford a costume so had to come up with something. It has some great ideas for costumes using clothes your child or you may already have with adding just a few easy and inexpensive accessories.

There were so many things I liked about this e-book and I plan to implement a few of these come this Halloween. Here’s but a few of things I liked (if I listed it all I’d just be copying & pasting the whole book as it’s all good:)

Halloween Games

  • The Mummy Wrap easy and just requires Toilet Paper you can picture it
  • Pumpkin Bowling this would be so fun for the kids

Homemade Costumes

  • The black widow – easy peasy
  • The Mummy & so many more

Tips on pumpkin carving

Tips on how to decorate on the cheap for Halloween and have it still look awesome

Halloween coupons and bargains and so much more

I’m amazed the book is free so if you get a chance I highly recommend that you grab it. You’re bound to find something you haven’t thought of and want to try out!

HalloweenMall.com is free to use, they have lots of wonderful information so you have nothing to lose and lots to gain by stopping by and checking it out. It gets a 2 thumbs up from Powered by Mom

I love Halloween mall but for the not so good sewer here area few customs I thought of that will not break the bank. A bubble gum machine. I also have seen couples go as a washer and a dry this only requires a few odd socks, paint and 2 large boxes plus either another box for parts like dial and face plate or poster board. A doctor or Nurse costume can be done from a thrift shop frequently. I have had to make many customs on little to know budget so My favorite was for my self when I was a cowgirl and I disguised my cane as a stick horse using an old pair of tights. And I just made a simple fringed vest out of a 1 dollar a yard piece of fabric. I didn’t want to be an old lady because I was 26 when I had to start using the evil cane

Great blog site. Very informative, great reviews. Funny how Halloween never gets old. My 8 year old son has wanted to goes as Pikachu for 3 years now – have never been able to find the suit. I am Mom shopping in August – with all tenacity and purpose – make his Halloween memorable – of course lots of pictures too.

good luck Eva! Even as adults my friend and I have lots of fun at Halloween with our daughters who are best friends and go to the same school so it’s a family deal. The dads take the girls trick or treating we stay outside and enjoy the kids coming by as my friend totally does up her front yard in a grave site everyone has fun. We eat and have fun before all the trick or treating too 🙂

Thank you for the review! I will definitely be heading over to Halloween Mall to enter their contest and grab that ebook. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. I have learned that homemade costumes give a person the chance to be creative and often those costumes turn out to be a just as good, if not better than the ones that can be purchased in a store. I made costumes for all of my children when they were young and got so many compliments on how great they were. Now that my youngest two are school aged, they want store bought costumes… But I remember throwing some things together for my two oldest who swore they didn’t want to go for tricks and treats then decided an hour before we were leaving with the younger ones that they wanted to go after all and now they need a costume.

I love Halloween, and last year we didn’t decorate or do much! It made me sad. This year I’ll have a 2 1/2 year old and a newborn and I intend to go all out. I’m tired of half-a$$ing the holidays. I want my kiddos to enjoy them! Thank you for this info, it will come in handy!

We have “trunk-or-treat” at our church. Last year my son was not quite one and it was a *very* cold Halloween, so we didn’t go. This year he will be not quite two, but it would be fun to go in a homemade or inexpensive costume since it’s just our church family who will see him! 🙂

Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year wh Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year where we'll start spending more time outside enjoying the weather, grilling and the longer days of light and so much more. ☀️⛱ SponsoredI may have gotten a head start as we went camping for the first time this year and this really reminded me of how I love to sit outside and enjoy a good campfire or one in our firepit in our backyard and enjoying the quiet of the evening and stars twinkling in the night sky. 🌠⭐It also brings up memories of good food, grilled food my favourite kind with all those fun and delicious marinades, rubs and sauces to dress up and enhance the flavour of your food. Stay tuned for my upcoming recipe that has a delicious and creamy lemon sauce with chicken cooked in a #castiron pan. 🍋🍳I've teamed up with @ChickenDotCA to give one lucky winner an Outdoor Wood Burning Round Cooking Pit for the month of April.
