I would love some ideas on smaller gifts, around $25 each, that would be great for aunts & uncles, friends, etc…
Michelle says
Thanks Jenn good idea we should do a smaller gifts guide suggestion. How about Hidden Treasure candles for the aunts? If you get a deal on shipping or any sales then it could be about $25. These candles are also nice and inexpensive if they like candles: http://fragrances123.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=694_695&products_id=10136 I personally love the Green Tea & ginger but they also have lavender vanilla, sweet orange and myrhh, lemongrass and bergamot (another fave) and more. If you message them directly and say you came from here you’ll get a better deal 🙂

I would love to see more electronic items considering that our family and many other families won’t be able to afford them for Christmas this year. And any other more expensive items that will be out of our budget reach. (If you are considering this list for giveaways.) Items that we will be buying will be more of the necessities, learning toys and devices, toddler furniture, ect.

This year, with the exception of our grandson Mason (due in Nov), we will be focusing our gift-giving on home decor items. Our 2 teen girls will each have their own new bedroom to decorate. They’ve shared a bedroom for so long, I really don’t think they’ll know what to do all alone in a room LOL
Since we are in the process of buying a home, there will be no electronics gifts being given this year.

I’m always on the hunt for the “filler” gifts. I have a very large family and I try throughout the year to buy the smaller neat gifts that don’t cost very much but aren’t the type of gift people throw away. Since I shop for everyone from 2 to 60, I am always looking for a variety. If I had to narrow it down, my family only agrees on one thing….sports! If it’s sports related, we are all over it…any sport!

I am going to be looking at an ipod touch for my daughter and books for her as well. For other family it will be along the same line as for my daughter – electronics. My sister in law is going to be getting married earlier next year so I will also be looking at household gifts for her and her future husband. I also like to get amazon gift cards for family members who have kindles and love to read 🙂

I dont think its too soon because I always do last minute stuff. I will be looking for gifts for 1 grandson and 2 grandaughter along with my 3 kids. I just love Christmas so everything and anything is helpful to make it easier and happier

Books and items I can use to teach my son as he is not going to be able to attend school this year.

I would love to see a guide that had a NO batteries required section… no plugs, no batteries… Something neat, new, and not made by a major manufacturer.
(As for starting now – can’t say I blame you. I picked my date for our annual Pre-Thanksgiving feast 2 weeks ago! Since it takes time to plan a menu, and some of our guests get their work schedules a month at a time!)
Michelle says
Yes thanks Linda! We have to start now, I try to get my own holiday shopping done no later than November 🙂
Linda says
Oh, I have a looooong holiday shopping/wish list
For kids: toys, shoes or clothing
For DH: perfume, shaving stuff, anything related to cooking, electronics or some cool kitchen appliances like mixer or deep fryer
For family members: chocolate or gift baskets, photo canvas or photo books
For myself: anything craft related, sewing machine would be a dream present for me! Also new vacuum cleaner would be nice.
And last but not least “family fun” presents like movie tickets, or vacation (or staycation), free-nights at some hotel, or free miles or car rental or gift card to a restaurant, or family gym membership, or tickets to Disneyland or SixFlags or watermark or zoo. So basically anything that can let us have fun as entire family
