I liked the Beyond the Classroom. Ever since learning about Dewey and his philosophy of education, I have preferred connecting action to learning. Kids definitely remember that better than drill and kill and answering brief questions on worksheets.
My favorite was the article on Kindness Makes a World of Difference....Really GREAT!! 🙂

Beyond the classroom: Learning in Action I often say this when we go on trips, because the learning of geological formations, animal habitats etc are far more learned when experiencing them first hand.

I love that in the Kindergarten cirriculum they incorporate arts, crafts, music etc. into the learning
I really like the Beyond the Classroom: Learning in Action article. I think it is very important to teach my kids to be good people nto just good students.

I felt the Beyond the Classroom article hit home. As a homeschooling mom, I strive to show my children not just how to be good scholars, but also good people. This article was a prime example of that.

In exploring Oak Meadow's Free Curriculum Samples, I enjoyed the thoroughness of the examples provided and cohesiveness of the lessons.
I love the Thoughts on Teaching Writing Prek-8. The article points out that it's important to let this learning process flow naturally with each child. I'm learning that right now working with my kindergartner who we are homeschooling.

I read the article Beyond the Classroom: Learning in Action and felt that there was a lot of truth in it. I remember my kids asking me why do I need to learn this. They need to be shown in all areas the importance of what they learn and how they apply it. Our educational background helps us in many things from the way we treat others to the everyday budgeting.
In the curriculum I like the Arts, Crafts and Projects that are included.
My favorite article is the Resources and Sources for Inspiration.
I like that it was founded in 1975 my birth year. and the whole idea of homeschooling now that I've taken a closer look.

I really love this one in the January/February 2002 issue: Eat, Drink and Be Healthy
I checked out 3 grades of their curriculum samples. I like how they lay out the overview for you so that you can get the big picture first. Interacting with nature for many of the lessons is awesome.

My daughter is entering the third grade. I read through the third grade curriculum and found it very resourceful and started the wheels turning in my head with activity ideas to do at home.
