Tips that I used to select my grey duvet cover
Or any duvet cover for that matter
For several years now we have duvets over quilts which of course means we’ve gone through several duvet covers. Let me tell you not all duvet covers are created equal. So when it came time to select my grey duvet cover I had some prerequisites which led me to the PeachSkinSheets.
We are already fans of PeachSkinSheets and their soft, breathable, hypoallergenic sheets that also have so many other qualities. We’ve received some in the past to review and I’ve bought more than one set especially when my favorite colors are on sale. I love that they have colors of the month where you can get those colors of the sheets at a very affordable price of $55, sometimes a bit more for king-sized but I’ve bought the king ones for $55 too!
I digress a little bit because we do love their sheets but how did that lead me to wanting my grey duvet cover from them? Below is what I look for and strive to get when getting a duvet cover.
Color choices – While I was look for “grey” I had a specific grey in mind and the “silver” from PeachSkinSheets was it. I like it when a company has a variety of colors to select from. Then if I like their duvet cover I can buy different colors in the future. After all changing your bed cover is one easy and more affordable way to change the look of your bedroom. Just look at all of the colors they offer below for their duvet cover sets!
Breathable material – I must have bedding that is made of breathable material and I like moisture wicking ones because you know night sweats. PeachSkinSheets grey duvet cover and okay all the colors meet this requirement.
Washable – Um yes a must because I am not bringing a duvet cover to the dry cleaners but believe it or not I have come across more than one duvet cover that was labelled as dry-clean only.
Corner Ties – Oh my gosh this one has been added to my wishlist as sadly too many duvet covers do not have this. I love my duvet but it’s so annoying when the corners slip and the duvet becomes lopsided in the duvet cover. I was thrilled to find out that PeachSkinSheets duvet covers have the corner ties and they work marvelously! It also makes it so much easier to put the duvet inside the duvet cover, especially when it’s a king-sized duvet. Those that have had to do this know what I mean.
Soft material – even though I may have a top cover sheet between myself and the duvet you still feel the material and I need it to feel soft. PeachSkinSheets are soft with 1500 threads per square inch. They are made of a high performance, athletic grade Smart Fabric designed to wick away moisture while regulating cool and warm body temperatures. Did I mention they are also stain-resistant? Helpful when you have a cat who jumps on the bed or a hubby who puts his work clothes with black grease on the bed by mistake, uh huh.
I’d prefer a zipper closure but those are hard to find so if it’s a button closure which most are I like the buttons to blend in or not be obvious.
Last but not least AFFORDABLE – that’s the beauty of PeachSkinSheets you get all these amazing properties with their material from the sheets to the duvet covers and they are so affordable. Especially when you compare them to other brands with similar qualities but few if any have all of the qualities of PeachSkinSheets. Now PeachSkinSheets are wrinkle resistant but if you look at my photo yes they’re are wrinkles but keep in mind this was after they went through the wash and I had it sitting in a basket for ahem a few days before folding it. Overall not bad at all.
Those are just some of the tips I use when considering what duvet cover to go with when I’m looking for a new one. What tips do you have? If you want to check out PeachSkinSheets GO HERE.
