Meal Planning

Meal planning can play a big part to help you and your family eat healthier. If you shop for healthier items and plan how you're going to incorporate them into your meals and snacks it's already a healthier choice then grabbing anything from the cupboard or fridge when you're hungry.

Make Your Meals Colorful To Eat Healthier

When you have different colored vegetables and more in your meals it's one way to help you to eat healthier. You know you're getting a bit more out of your meals when you include a variety of vegetables (think colors) to go with your proteins and healthy carbs and fats.healthy eating

Stop eating when you're full

We've all been known to do it. We keep eating even though we're full, but why? If you're full put the utensils down, it's okay to push that plate away. I know I was raised to eat everything on my plate but I think a better way to think of it is to have a bit of everything in moderation from my vegetables to my proteins and carbs. Make the healthier choices.

  2. This would be such a helpful guide to sign up for, thank you so much for sharing! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so diet and exercise is a big part in feeling good. I also just found out that I shouldn't be eating gluten, so this is big change that I am going to need help with. I am so glad there are so many resources out there now though!

  3. It's the meal planning I fail at. I get busy, then scramble for a meal for the family. I've got to start making more time.

  8. This is something I'm definitely signing up for and hopefully my son after his recent heath scare. He has a terrible duet and zero exercise. He's expressed needing guidance on the road to a healthy lifestyle. I know he eats a lot of high sodium frozen garbage and drinks way too many energy drinks. Now that I've been an empty nester for a few years now I've gained weight mostly from eating when I'm not really hungry and having trouble adjusting my cooking for just one. I'm really interested in meal prep. I like the idea that we can kind of take this journey together by using the same program. I'm really glad I cane across this. Thank you so much for the valuable information!

  10. I think I eat pretty healthy foods, but my big nutritional issue is accidentally skipping meals when I get too busy. I've got to schedule my meals better.

  12. I I think it is always important to keep learning to eat healthier and keep these tips fresh in my mind. I like the tip to eat colorful fruits and veggies and to stop eating when I am full. Sometimes just waiting 10 minutes before eating more does the trick.

  17. I love veggies but I usually add too much olive oil or earth balance margarine. I enjoyed reading this and seeing pictured of all the colorful produce. I do get tired a lot and tend to grab a full carb meal from the fridge though too.

  18. Healthy eating is actually very tasty. It's convenience that usually wins out, though, and that's the problem. That and price.

  19. I have alot of food allergies and even take medications because of some of the allergies. I already work with a dietician through my doctor's office because of the food allergies. I cannot simply just "eat this or eat that" or go on this or that diet. It's all very monitored and I pay that dietcian and my doctor every week to go their appointments. It might be a nice diet or way to eat for some people.

  24. I think that meal planning would probably help my family the most. I grew up eating a lot of veggies but my hubby only wants meat, potatoes and corn so it's hard for me to plan. Our kids are more like me and would rather have vegetables.

  25. I totally agree that meal planning is essential for healthy eating. Whenever I don't meal plan is when we end up making bad choices. It also helps me reduce my stress level because once the meals are decided on, the prep work is easy.
