Powered by Mom’s iCoffee Opus Single Serve Brewer Review
If you like the convenience of a single serve brewer for your coffee and/or tea but still want your brew to taste good, no bitterness but all the taste then check out the iCoffee Opus Single Serve Brewer! We have given away our Keurig machine and now the iCoffee Opus is our go-to machine for those quick single serve coffees but without sacrificing the taste.
I love my coffee but only if it tastes good! This one made from my iCoffee Opus hits the spot especially with the Gingerbread Cookies! Just add foam & some chocolate shavings and done!
About the iCoffee Opus Single Serve Brewer
Creator Bruce Burrows was never satisfied with the taste or quality of the coffee he made at home and after trying single serves and so many other machines he decided to have great coffee taste at home was to re-invent how coffee was brewed at home. So he did just that by inventing SpinBrew™ Technology for single serve brewers and SteamBrew™ Technology for multi-cup brewers. Both technologies spin, steam and stir throughout the
brewing process to open up the grounds, unlocking and releasing all the exquisite coffee flavor in a way that has never been done before. What you get is Impossibly Smooth™ coffee taste with the familiarity of a drip coffee maker or the convenience of a K-style single-serve brewer.
Shorter coffee cups can sit on the removeable drip tray like my favorite red coffee cup below.
Taller cups just remove the drip tray
Does the iCoffee Opus product better coffee than other K-Cup single serves?
We did a side by side comparison, we had the iCoffee Opus next to our Keurig and my hubby and I would each make a cup of coffee, one on the iCoffee Opus and one on the Keurig use the exact same K-cup. Now here’s where things differ on the Keurig as many of you may know you have only a few choices for how much coffee you want. On the iCoffee Opus you can select anywhere from 4 ounces to 12 ounces of coffee and anything in between in 0.5 oz increments. So we tried to to come as close as we could for the amounts.
Here’s what we found:
- The Keurig coffee tasted slightly bitter, sometimes a lot more so.
- The iCoffee cup was hotter, yay
- The iCoffee k-cup tasted better
- The iCoffee took slightly longer to brew
Now while I’d love it if I had time every morning to make myself a fancy latte at least two days a week it’s not possible. I leave before the sun rises to go to work on those days and I simply don’t have a lot of time as I don’t want to get up any earlier. I definitely need my coffee on those days but I still want it to taste good. I can’t believe how I can taste the difference now between the iCoffee and the Keurig. As mentioned the iCoffee brews it hotter and there’s no bitterness, big win!
Let’s not forget that like it’s lesser counterpart the iCoffee Opus also makes tea! I received the one above in a lovely sampler that iCoffee sent to me.
I have to mention it was such a nice treat that when I opened the box for the iCoffee Opus Single Serve Brewer that there was this lovely sampler box. Remember the tea above (yep from this box).
I absolutely love Marley Coffee and I was surprised (pleasantly) to see Tim Horton’s Coffee in this box too. For those who don’t know Tim Horton’s is a popular Canadian Coffee, they have chains across Canada serving their coffee, donuts, soups and sandwiches and a few other things. It’s the first time I’ve ever received Timmie’s (what most Canadians will call this chain) in anything like this, how fun. Don’t tell my fellow Canadians though that I love Marley Coffee more 😉
We also received our own iCoffee Reusable Coffee Cup so we can use our own coffee grinds if we want to. We use this frequently especially on the days where I work from home. I like to be able to grind my own coffee and use it right away, the coffee always tastes the best that way and as we all know it’s the more economical way to go. I should mention though that the iCoffee can use ALL k-cup compatible k-cups, unlike the Keurig 2.0 so you have choices when it comes to your k-cups!
So do we LOVE the iCoffee Opus Single Serve Brewer?
Um did you not just read my review? Yes I love it, the Keurig is now gone and when I want a quick but hot (must be hot, super hot) and better tasting cup of coffee (than the Keurig) my iCoffee Opus brewer is it! They are living up to the promise that the SpinBrew Technology makes the coffee taste impossibly smooth. I know this is my hubby’s favorite machine as he never has time for what he calls fancy coffees he wants his coffee right away, hot and smooth so he can get out the door and start his day. It meets both of our needs as we both want our coffee to taste good too!
We received the iCoffe Opus Brewer for the purpose of review but this does not affect our opinion of the machine, all opinions are 100% our own as always.
