Kangaroo Notebook – Two PCs In 1 Review

in Gadgets/Tech on 01/28/17

Kangaroo Notebook is the modular approach to laptops

The Kangaroo Notebook, the affordable laptop that is Two PCs in One.

Whether you need a laptop for the family, work or school the Kangaroo Notebook’s modular approach will make it easier for everyone. By having two independent Kangaroo mini PCs, you can now separate your family PC from your personal PC using the same screen.

Kangaroo notebook

The Kangaroo Notebook: 2 PCS in 1

The Kangaroo Notebook consists of two Kangaroo Mini modules and a Notebook Dock, designed to keep your work PC and family PC separate. Each Mini module is a self-contained Windows 10 PC with CPU, RAM and storage incorporated into a palm-sized package. The Notebook Dock offers a brilliant 11.6″ display, battery, keyboard, track pad and ports. Simply slide the Mini module into the dock and you get a fully-functional laptop. The swappable modules allow you to physically separate your work PC from family PC, eliminating the worry about your kids messing around on your personal computer.

Kangaroo Notebook

Weighing in at only 2.64lbs/1.2kghe the Kangaroo Notebook is a versatile laptop that you can take anywhere and stay organized. It’s ideal in so many ways from parents wanting to keep their business files or finance files separate from the kids school work. Its immersive 11.6” HD screen and 37Wh battery with a slot on the left side that allows you to plug in your Kangaroo Mini. For those who work from home like myself and my hubby we can keep our business files separate from our family files.

kangaroo mini module collage

You might wonder why is this modular approach better than just for example having different user accounts on one laptop or desktop. With the Kangaroo Notebook’s modular approach I can keep my hundreds of photos that are work related separate from the family files. As we all know photos take up a LOT of memory and when you’re snapping anywhere from 100-500+ photos a week like I am that can take up a lot of resources on a computer.

kangaroo mini

Yes I do back them up on external hard drives and even cloud storage but let’s face it I (and many others) don’t always get around to do that the second we upload those photos to our computers. I try to back up weekly but sometimes it only happens a few times a month. so in the mean time those photos take up memory resources on the computer and eventually slow it down. Something my hubby and daughter don’t love when all they want to do  is use Excel or MS Word for work or school work.

If you’re a visual person like I am you will appreciate these photos so you can gauge the size of the Kangaroo Notebook. The first one is a photo of it next to an iPad Mini. Keep in mind the iPad Mini is in a case making it look even bigger.

kangaroo ipad mini

Now here it is next to an iPad Air 2 in a case. It’s still bigger than the iPad Air but remember it’s only 2.64lbs which also makes it perfect for me when I travel which can be quite often since travel is also a part of what I do here on Powered by Mom. In fact the day I received the Kangaroo Notebook I was travelling to Seattle so I had a chance to try it out on the road. I love being able to bring a laptop that is so light I barely notice it in my backpack or camera bag. It will easily fit in my carry-on that goes under the seats on an airplane so I have easy access to it on the plane. I tend to use my laptops on planes to watch movies, especially for long flights it’s a way to make the time go quicker. Trust me when you’ve travelled on plans for almost 17 hours (yes that was one of flight days) and you have a hard time sleeping on a plane you become an expert on packing to entertain yourself. Of course I can always do work as well.

kangaroo ipad air

I can also attach a keyboard to it and external mouse. Some of you might think that’s crazy but if I have a lot of work to do on the road due to my wrist issues I need to use an ergonomic keyboard and a mouse, otherwise I end up with a lot of pain if it’s a long day on the computer.

Powered by Mom’s Thoughts:

It’s only been a short time but so far I love it. The portability, lightweight, USB ports and of course being able to separate my large photos files and other Powered by Mom work from family files with ease. There’s no worrying that when the family wants to use the Kangaroo Notebook that my large files will slow down the processor or that anyone will accidentally delete any of my files. Problem solved with the Kangaroo Notebook modules. Just switch out the Kangaroo Mini and you’re good to go. The display is clear and crisp and for the size and price point the speakers are good enough for me if I want to listen to music while working on the Kangaroo Notebook.

I love the flexibility and privacy of two full Windows 10 PCs with one docking station and monitor. Two PCs yet a  small footprint.

I highly recommend the Kangaroo Notebook!  someone special the Kangaroo Notebook! With 2 separate Windows10 PCs & a laptop dock, it offers value & flexibility!  You can buy the Kangaroo Notebook on NewEgg.com!

I’d love to win the Kangaroo Notebook because it is smaller, lighter and cheaper than most laptops on the market now. Since it has two separate full Windows 10 PCs with one docking station and monitor, it would allow me the flexibility to keep my business and personal household records and information private since one of the PC would be separate from our family’s PC that they would use for classes, learning, searching on the internet, playing games and more activities.

To the dozens and dozens of entrants:
Just to clear things up and HELP YOU.
#1. It’s probably a GOOD IDEA to read the ENTIRE article–not glance over it or read a few comments…
#2: This is NOT a laptop. Maybe I have even thrown some off b/c I mentioned early on that I didn’t have a PC or Laptop. I was just stating that fact. This notebook is the pefect alternative and works for what I need BUT if you want a laptop– this is NOT for you. You can’t do all the same things.
#3: It is NOT 2 seperate entities. It’s ONE notebook that functions LIKE a 2-in-1.
#4: You do NOT have to buy the programming like Windows 10. They just mention in the article howcmuch it would cost IF you had to purchase separately.
☆☆I’m not being snotty, by any means. I’m just wanting those who enter to KNOW what they’re getting….and clearly–many are just going through the motions per contest. Good Luck to everyone! ♡

I loved that the review gave info about an external hard-drive, which can be used not only for backing important things up but for using it to hold whatever since the Notebook does not have the memory of a standard PC. I’m always curious about whether games can be played on notebooks or not and having that question responded to in the review was icing on the cake!

The portability, lightweight, USB ports and of course being able to separate my large photos files and other Powered by Mom work from family files with ease. There’s no worrying that when the family wants to use the Kangaroo Notebook that my large files will slow down the processor or that anyone will accidentally delete any of my files. I really like the size and weight of this notebook.

Great review! And I love that it’s so light.
My current laptop is pretty heavy and it’s a pain to lug around. I’d love to have something light to carry with me when I take my mother to her doctor’s appointments. I can get some work done while waiting in the waiting room. That’s hard to do at the moment because it’s a pain to carry around a heavy laptop.

With the two modules, I like that you can keep files separately. Like you said, you can keep all your pictures on one module. I can see the appeal for parents of younger children. You can keep one module safe with filtering software and games for the kids while the other module can be for your personal use. I also like that it’s powerful enough to run Win10.
What I don’t like is that you have to purchase two separate licenses for software, like MS Office. That’s a critical piece of software. There’s an SD slot which I would use to store pictures and documents. I’d like to see and HDMI port to connect it to the TV in your hotel for movies.

Nice for general basic computer things due to small ram.
Or, as a backup when the family computer goes kaput like ours just did..haha

I love this concept, love the whole Mini module and that they are small and easy to put in and out of the dock, so user friendly. I hope this becomes a standard option for computers.

This looks interesting. I would use one for myself and one for my hubby! I had never heard of this before, thanks for the review.

I really like that Each Mini module is a self-contained Windows 10 PC with CPU, RAM and storage incorporated into a palm-sized package.

I love that this is 2 pc’s in one and would be able to share it with my daughter.

This has amazing flexibility being able to switch out modules. My granddaughter uses my computer when she visits and this would certainly me valuable and efficient to keep information separate.

I really like the size and weight of this notebook because you can easily take it with you while traveling. I also like that it’s like having two PC’s in one with the mini modules so you can either share it with someone else, or use it for home and business.

I like the idea of being able to have separate files for photos with the Kangaroo Notebook’s modular approach. I often take a lot of time trying to sort through my photos. This will make me more organized!

Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year wh Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year where we'll start spending more time outside enjoying the weather, grilling and the longer days of light and so much more. ☀️⛱ SponsoredI may have gotten a head start as we went camping for the first time this year and this really reminded me of how I love to sit outside and enjoy a good campfire or one in our firepit in our backyard and enjoying the quiet of the evening and stars twinkling in the night sky. 🌠⭐It also brings up memories of good food, grilled food my favourite kind with all those fun and delicious marinades, rubs and sauces to dress up and enhance the flavour of your food. Stay tuned for my upcoming recipe that has a delicious and creamy lemon sauce with chicken cooked in a #castiron pan. 🍋🍳I've teamed up with @ChickenDotCA to give one lucky winner an Outdoor Wood Burning Round Cooking Pit for the month of April. We took both of our dogs with us and we think we broke them 😆 #CleoTheDog & #NyxTheDog were both soooo tired by around 8:30pm each night that they would go to our trailer door & look at ys waiting to be let in 😁 while we continued to enjoy our campfire 🔥It was great to unplug there is no cell service let alone internet where we go so we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We share tips on how you can help an animal rescue whether in person or from home with help from the experts at an animal rescue that I volunteer with. *Sponsored* 💕♥️One tip is to donate supplies. 🪀🐈🐩Right now it's kitten season and the rescue I work with the cat department @threelittlepittiesrescue we're being asked to rescue mamas with kittens and kittens without mamas where we need milk replacement like the one from @tailspring which is goats milk based 🐐🍼We had some kittens try it out and they LOVED it! 🐱Check out these tips now by going to the smart.bio/poweredbymom link in our profile where you can find this article and more! 🐈In case you're wondering yes this photo of a mama cat and her kittens are actual kitties that 3LP has taken into their program. 🐱🐈‍⬛ They're not yet available for adoption as the kittens are too young and still need mama. The puppies in the other photos were also rescued by 3LP and I believe they've all found furever homes. 🏡💖😻https://www.powered-by-mom.com/how-to-help-your-local-pet-rescue/#ThreeLittlePittiesSavingKitties #TexasCats #TexasRescu #rescuedog #rescuecats #rescuekitty #rescuekittens #rescuecatsofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedogs #rescuedogsrock #rescuedogsarethebest #rescuedogofinstagram #rescuedogsarethebestdogs #ilovemyrescuedog #rescuedogmom #rescuecatmom #rescuedoglife #adoptarescuedog #rescuedoglove #rescuedoggy #rescuedogsarebest #lovemyrescuedog #rescuecatlove #HelpAPetRescue #HelpAnimals
