How Stress Affects Immune Health

With the current global pandemic there is a lot of stress going around. There is also a lot of trying to stay healthy as well. Unfortunately, these two things often conflict with each other. As indicated by the Cleveland Clinic, stress produces the hormone cortisol.

immune health

In short doses, cortisol actually boosts our immune system and reduces inflammation. But as soon as we experience prolonged stress, our body becomes used to those levels of cortisol in our blood and our bodies can no longer suppress inflammation. "In addition, stress decreases the body’s lymphocytes — the white blood cells that help fight off infection. The lower your lymphocyte level, the more at risk you are for viruses" (Cleveland Clinic)

The Good News

immune health

You can help reduce the effects of stress on your body. With yoga, meditation, and other active and relaxing activities, some only taking 5 minutes of your day, you can drastically reduce the amount of cortisol your body produces on a daily basis. It is also best to make sure you are getting the supplements your body needs to counteract the effects of stress and bolsters up your immune health.

The Best Supplements for Immune Health

Superior Source makes a ton of supplements that dissolved under your tongue. This means more of the nutrients are being directly absorbed into your immune system. This ensures you get the full dose listed and don't lose any to your stomach acid.

I am currently taking 10,000 IU of Vitamin A, normally associated with eye health. Vitamin A also helps your body respond to inflammation better, counteracting the negative effects of cortisol. My Vitamin D is extra strength at 5,000 IU and I take 2 daily. This is critical for your body to properly use other nutrients,  it supports bone health, and also helps alleviate depression.

My kids and I both take the Children's B complex with Vitamin C. Vitamins B and C are both, of course, great of our immune health. Vitamin B is also great for mood support as well.

Keep Calm with Calming Formula

The Superior Source Calming Formula is new to me, but could not have come at a better time. Featuring L-Theanine, which raises the production levels of GABA, as well as serotonin and dopamine, all helping to regulate sleep and mood. 5-HTP helps the body produce more serotonin, and melatonin is a natural sleep aid.

Sleep is crucial to regulating stress in your body, but it also often makes it difficult to fall asleep. This formula has made it so much easier to relax and get a good night's sleep. Even for my children! I regularly took 3mg of Melatonin already, but I can really feel the addition of the other ingredients helping my body to relax and sleep at night. It has been a wonderful addition to my nighttime routine.

Even better, right now all Superior Source Supplements are up to 25% off at CVC4Health.com.

It's SO Easy

Superior Source's MicroLingual® – “Under the Tongue Technology” makes it so easy to take these additional supplements. I just pop them under my tongue and a minute later they are gone. I love knowing my body is getting everything possible out of them as well. I also have to take a minute to rave about the lip healer as well.

immune health

I have tried tons of lip balms. I have even made my own. But not a single one makes my lips feel truly moisturized, they usually just seem coated with a moisturizing agent, if you know what I mean. And they help my lips (The true way to fight dry lips is to drink more water) but they don't seem to last long. All that is different with this Lip Healer.

immune health

Not only is it SPF-15, and all-natural with aloe, vitamin E, calendula, and chamomile, but it lasts for hours. Seriously. I don't have to reapply it every twenty minutes to feel like it's doing something. It's kind of crazy. I habitually reach for it constantly only to realize I can still feel it moisturizing my lips from the previous application. I've actually swapped out some of my regular lip balms spots with this, even if I wasn't finished with the other. And let's face it. It's one less thing to stress about right now, am I right? No need to worry about dry lips. It's quite comforting and makes me feel great.

  1. I’ve been on a hunt for a cheap but good lip balm too that does make it oily like Vaseline of Carmex. aloe vera is a top ingredient I’m looking for and ingredients that don’t irritate. The SPF is a bonus!
