Powered by Mom wants her daughter to Keep Playing Like a Girl
We should all encourage the girls in our lives to Keep Playing #LikeAGirl
Why? For starters because not only is there nothing wrong with playing like a girl, it’s so right. Each girl has their own thing, likes, dislikes and of course the things they love to do. Whether they like to play sports, dance, sing, love science, math or whatever it is we want them be confident and know that they can keep doing what they’re doing and doing it like a girl is not only good, it’s spectacular!
Girls’ confidence can plummet at puberty so we need to do what we can to nurture their confidence. We need to encourage them to do what they love to do and do it their way because playing like a girl is amazing. As someone who was once that teenaged girl whose confidence would waver at times through puberty, I’m even more determined to nurture my daughter’s confidence and to encourage her to follow her passions and just be herself.
I love that for more than 30 years, Always has been championing girls’ confidence globally and thanks to them the phrase #LikeAGirl is powerful and associated with amazing things. Check out this fabulous video that they just released today which is all about playing like a girl.
Isn’t that a fantastic video? How do you encourage the girl/s in your life to play like a girl? How do you nurture their confidence?
For my daughter, her passions lie in singing, dancing and art. She loves to sing all of the time and took her passion all the way to her high school’s production of Grease where she played one of the pink ladies. She didn’t let it stop her that she was the youngest girl to audition, or the smallest because that doesn’t matter, she loves to sing, and she went for it, and I think that’s just fabulous. It doesn’t matter what size, age or what their passion is we all should always nurture confidence in our girls so that they can pursue whatever they want to do and know that being a girl is a fantastic thing, always.
Let girls follow their passion & encourage them to be who they want to be, themselves whether they love to play sports, dance, sing, have purple hair it’s all fabulous.
As parents, mentors, big sisters, and brothers, anyone really who is a part of any girls network we can help them with their confidence and just be there for them when we need them. I will encourage my daughter to pursue whatever she’s interested in, whether it’s her singing, dancing, art or something new. After all, in the end, all any mom wants for her daughter is to be happy and doing what she loves to do.
“Let’s encourage young girls to stay in sports (or whatever their passion is) by showing them they belong! Make sure to share the Keep Playing #LikeAGirl video and let’s all raise confident, happy girls.
