Powered by Mom wants her daughter to Keep Playing Like a Girl
#LikeAGirl
We should all encourage the girls in our lives to Keep Playing #LikeAGirl
Why? For starters because not only is there nothing wrong with playing like a girl, it's so right. Each girl has their own thing, likes, dislikes and of course the things they love to do. Whether they like to play sports, dance, sing, love science, math or whatever it is we want them be confident and know that they can keep doing what they're doing and doing it like a girl is not only good, it's spectacular!
Girls' confidence can plummet at puberty so we need to do what we can to nurture their confidence. We need to encourage them to do what they love to do and do it their way because playing like a girl is amazing. As someone who was once that teenaged girl whose confidence would waver at times through puberty, I'm even more determined to nurture my daughter's confidence and to encourage her to follow her passions and just be herself.
I love that for more than 30 years, Always has been championing girls' confidence globally and thanks to them the phrase #LikeAGirl is powerful and associated with amazing things. Check out this fabulous video that they just released today which is all about playing like a girl.

Isn't that a fantastic video? How do you encourage the girl/s in your life to play like a girl? How do you nurture their confidence?
For my daughter, her passions lie in singing, dancing and art. She loves to sing all of the time and took her passion all the way to her high school's production of Grease where she played one of the pink ladies. She didn't let it stop her that she was the youngest girl to audition, or the smallest because that doesn't matter, she loves to sing, and she went for it, and I think that's just fabulous. It doesn't matter what size, age or what their passion is we all should always nurture confidence in our girls so that they can pursue whatever they want to do and know that being a girl is a fantastic thing, always.
Let girls follow their passion & encourage them to be who they want to be, themselves whether they love to play sports, dance, sing, have purple hair it's all fabulous.
As parents, mentors, big sisters, and brothers, anyone really who is a part of any girls network we can help them with their confidence and just be there for them when we need them. I will encourage my daughter to pursue whatever she's interested in, whether it's her singing, dancing, art or something new. After all, in the end, all any mom wants for her daughter is to be happy and doing what she loves to do.
“Let's encourage young girls to stay in sports (or whatever their passion is) by showing them they belong! Make sure to share the Keep Playing #LikeAGirl video and let's all raise confident, happy girls.
I remember letting my daughter sample a lot of different activities before she found some that fit her personality. She was lucky to find some that eventually led to current profession.
I think it is wonderful to encourage our girls..So important for their self- esteem...
I love that produxts like Always have taken on this campaign to encourage girls to be healthy, physically and emotionally!
My girls are very confident and most of the time don't worry about what others say about them.
I always told my daughter's you can be anything you want to be and they followed through.
Girls should be encouraged to participate in sports, any sport, no matter what their age!
Yes girls can play any sport.Even against boys!I always did!
I have granddaughters and I have always encouraged them to be themselves in what ever they want to do in school. Always be a leader, be as smart as you can be and give you 100%
I have one daughter and she has always done what she likes and I have encouraged her to.
I like my daughter to be interested in anything she like and want to do. School and sport.
I have 4 girls. I have always encouraged them to go for what they want to do. Great post.
Love this blog, I have 3 young girls definitely want to raise them to be very confident
Our daughter tried all the sport she wanted but is really into the arts...play, speech and debate, writing but in college she wants to try intermurals!
I think it is important to encourage girls to play if they want to. Sports are great for emotional and physical health, and it's good to encourage girls to play.
It's so important to help girls hold on to that confidence.
As the mom of boys, I love this! It's about time we started encouraging our girls and educating our boys! Girl power! <3
As a mom of 3 girls, I love stuff like this!
I love that video- especially the message they're sending to young girls. I played sports all through high school and think it was really good for me. It also created a healthy focus. I love their play
Ike a girl campaign!
Kids today need all the info they can get. Puberty is a hard time
Growing up was awful, so confusing & I felt so insecure. It's only now that I'm in my 50s that I've got the confidence to do what I want.
It's really important that, in our fast-paced society, that we encourage girls (and boys) to follow their own path, and to play, play, play!
There are so many negative role models for girls,i think any thing that boosts confidence and erases that negative self image us super!
I think this is so true and so important.
This looks great! I wish I'd become more involved in athletics when I was younger.
I love this campaign! We should all play #LikeAGirl!
This is very nice for the girls tol be in to this as much as boys would. I thank you for your bringing this to everyone, as it will help someone out.
This is so true, and so important. Why is it, it's so wrong.
It is great to encourage girls to follow their passions. My daughter will be going to college this year to study applied mathematics.
I like this (or whatever their passion is) today is the chance to do any thing a girl wants to do....... no more cooking and cleaning and having babies........... teachers, scientist, engineerings any thing that is their passion
Kids are put through so much these days. We encourage our granddaughters to be themselves. Be a leader - not a follower.
I like the message that this article sends. It seems every stage children go thru is tough. It's hard.
Amen! I love this perspective on being encouraging, supportive role models in our children's lives. It can be tough being a little one. I think as grown ups we can often lose touch with how scary and overwhelming growing up was at times!
Puberty is a tough stage to go through. We need to always encourage our children and let them know we are with them in whatever they want to persue. Thank you so much for sharing
