Keeping mosquitoes away
The summer months are the perfect time to have a backyard barbecue or take the family to the beach for a bonfire at night. However, you are not the only one who loves to go outside for a meal or for a gathering during those warm summer evenings. Unfortunately, bugs and other pests like to get in on the fun as well.
What Can You Do to Stop Them?
There is nothing that you can do to keep bugs from invading your party. At best, you can take steps to repel them so that they are at least on the outside looking in. Spraying yourself with repellant can keep mosquitoes from biting or swarming around your head when it gets hot and humid outside.
Make Sure to Reapply the Repellent Throughout the Day
Over time, anything that you put on your body will wash away due to sweat or being in the water. If you go swimming, make sure that you put on a new layer of repellent to keep the bugs off of you. If you have been running around or taking part in other activities under the sun, you may need to reapply the repellent as well to keep the bugs off of your skin.
Bug Zappers May Also Do the Trick
A bug zapper or a tiki torch at your next gathering could keep bugs as far away from you as possible. The bugs will be attracted by the light of the zapper and will be repelled by the heat of the fire. If a bug gets too close to the zapper, it will be killed along with any other members of the colony that decide to go in with it. Fly paper can also be used to attract bugs and keep them from ruining your next family or corporate gathering.
If you tend to spend more time outdoors as the weather gets warmer, don’t forget to keep the bugs away. Bug zappers, repellent spray and tiki torches are all part of a backyard mosquito control plan that will help you and others stay safe and keep your skin from being itchy all night long.
