Kids Can Code Family Games at Home
The Arcade Coder Makes Coding Fun for the Whole Family.
Tech Will Save Us is a unique company committed to letting kids have fun, learn, and invent. As a mom, nothing could be better for my kids. My oldest has taken a coding class previously and dreams of becoming a video game maker. Now we don’t have to pay for expensive classes by the hour. He can learn and practice right at home and build games that we can all play together. It makes it simple for kids to code family games and challenging enough that they are learning real skills.

Fun for the Whole Family
Designed for kids ages 6 and up, even my younger kids can get in on the fun. We didn’t even have to connect the Arcade Coder to the iPad for the younger two to have fun with it. And yes, it does require an iPad. Maybe down the road, it will be compatible with other tablets. The Arcade Coder has RGB 144 buttons that light up in 254 different colors. The kids love that it arrived already charged and ready to go. We switched it on and the lights cascade beautifully. Tap a button and you get a randomly colored firework. It’s so fun and so pretty.
Learning Real Skills
My kids each have their own account set up in the app so each can progress at their own speed. It walked them through the setup and got them started right away. It focuses on game design and block coding and walks the kids through step by step. My oldest loves collecting the badges as he passes each level. Each level gets progressively more complex and builds upon the last to help learn new skills and incorporate new ones. My oldest progressed through the initial levels rather quickly with his previous experience but is having a lot of fun making the games.
Coding Gamily Games
What I love about Tech Will Save Us is their encouraging nature. After setting up the accounts for the kids I got an “adults only” email. That sounds bad, but it’s all rated G. The whole purpose of this email was to let me know how I can best support my kids on their coding journey with Arcade Coder. It provides specific ideas and encourages getting involved. My son programmed a game that can be played by up to four players. This means we can all sit down and play a fun (and pretty light-up) game as a family. I am familiar with coding myself, so I love quizzing him on how he did things. This further cements his learning as he has to recall what he did in detail.
Fun Learning and Family Fun
I think Tech Will Save Us gets it right when they say, “We are wow makers. Determined to make the world better through insights driven results. A genuine love of learning & being seriously playful – All day, Everyday. Be Your Best Self.” I could seriously make this my life’s mantra. I’m always encouraging my kids to just be kids and have fun. But I also want them to be well prepared for life. Things like this Arcade Coder are perfect for encouraging creativity, curiosity, and makes learning fun.

Wow this sounds so amazing to me as I don’t know the first thing about coding but luckily my grandkids do. They would adore having something like this.
