Krusteaz - Protein Pancakes made Easy! #Review

protein pancakes

I'm going to be completely transparent here for just a moment. I like to cook. My family likes to eat. I like pancakes. I've NEVER been able to make decent pancakes. They were either too runny or they would burn or they were too hard... it was always something. Until I got the Krusteaz protein pancakes mix, a little box of yumminess in the mail! Krusteaz put the ease in pancake making for this mama!

About Krusteaz:

In 1932 the women of a Seattle bridge club had a simple idea for an easy-to-make pie crust. They called it "Crust Ease" (a clever combination of “crust” and “ease”), and little did they know it would lead to a wide variety of home-baked goods enjoyed by everyone around the country.

I was amazed at how truly simple it was to make delicious pancakes and protein pancakes to boot, added nutrition but all flavor! Apparently I've been doing it wrong for a lot of years! It took about a minute and a half to mix the batter up (all you need is the mix and water - TOO simple!). Let my pan get good and hot. In about 5 minutes I was eating a nice fluffy stack of pancake goodness.

Instructions:

  1. Heat pancake griddle to 375°F (medium heat). Lightly grease griddle.
  2. Whisk pancake mix and water. Batter will be slightly lumpy. Do not over-mix. Let batter stand 2 minutes. Pour slightly less than ¼ cup batter per pancake onto griddle.
  3. Cook protein pancakes 1¾ - 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown, turning only once.

I chose to put some walnuts in mine and top with coconut nectar and strawberries - So tasty! These Buttermilk Protein pancakes held me all day long. I've never had pancakes satisfy me like that, normally in an hour or so I'm looking for a snack. Not this time. I didn't eat again until dinner so not only were these protein pancakes super delicious they sustained me all day.

If you're like me, you're already dreading the new school year that's quickly approaching. You are going to want to keep a box (or two) of Krusteaz Protein Buttermilk Pancake Mix in your pantry. It's a quick and easy breakfast and will hold the kiddos until their lunch time rolls around!

  18. I have been using Krusteaz brand since I can remember,my mom used to buy them. I didn't know Krusteaz had so many varieties of pancake mixes but I have bought the Lemon Bar mix.

  19. This company has great products. I would love to try their pancake mixes. I love that I only need to add water and that there is protein added to the mix. I use to be bad at pancakes and would make a mess by turning them too soon. I learned to toss a little water on griddle or pan and if it bubbles it should be ready. Also do not turn until the pancakes have bubbles.

I like the idea of having protein in the mix, because we usually are camping, and adding that extra protein would be a real plus.
