While we don’t know yet exactly how Vitamin C affects lymphocytes, is does seem to help the body produce more T-cells and B-Calls. We do know it helps regulate genes and this could be why it helps our bodies better fight off infections and help keep us from getting sicker when we’ve been preemptively taking it.
Children’s Echinacea and Zinc Lozenjets
Whether your kids are back to school physically or not, we all know they seem to carry around tons of germs. While echinacea has only proved to have a limited effect on preventing or suppressing colds, it has been proven to increase the production of white blood cells, which are the actual soldiers fighting infections in our bodies. Zinc helps build up our very cells to keep them strong and resisting foreign invasion. It also helps keep the immune system under control, so that it doesn’t overreact and cause more problems than it is solving.

Vitamins B-12, B-6, and folic acid are vital for immune functions. They help produce a sufficient number of red blood cells to carry oxygen around the body, in addition to a number of other important things. Specifically, Vitamin B-6 produces white blood cells and T cells, which regulate immune responses. Vitamin B-6 also helps the body make the protein interleukin-2 which directs white blood cell activity.
Selenium is an antioxidant (I know, “buzzword”). That means that it helps your body fight free radicals and protects the structures of your cells. It helps to reduce inflammation typical with any immune response. When there are elevated levels of Selenium in the bloodstream, it shows your body is having an immune response.
