Powered by Mom brings you a Lugz Cora Women’s Boots Review
When I decide that I’m in the need for some retail therapy it doesn’t matter that I start the day telling myself that I’m looking for a new pair of jeans, I’ll still somehow up in the shoe department of what ever store I happen to be in at the time. Before I know it I’ve wandered away from the ladies jeans, have ended up in the shoe department and am sitting down on the nearest chair with several boxes, each with it’s own shiny new pair of shoes, beside me. I can’t help it; I just love shoes. The only thing that keeps me from giving in to my love and going mad with purchases are the price tags on some of the shoes I covet. I’m no Carrie Bradshaw so I can be sensible about my footwear but I often go home empty handed and filled with disappointment.
When I was given the opportunity to work with one of my family’s favorite shoe companies Lugz to review a cute pair of boots how could I say no? Lugz broke out into the footwear industry and made a name for itself in October of 1993 while bringing its first line of boots to the market. Their initial product line consisted of just two styles of boots, a quilted vest and a pair of jeans. It didn’t take long for Lugz to get their brand out there and were soon endorsed by big names in the Hip Hop industry to create their own unique Boot lines; such opportunities led to endorsements from names like Orange County Choppers and MMA fighters Lyoto Machida and Houston Alexander. Since 1993 Lugz has carved its name into the Footwear industry with it’s signature styles and now markets a full line of Boots for Men, Women and Kids.
I was sent a pair of the Cora boots Lugz for my review. As you can see from my picture you can wear these boots with leggings (or at least I do) but they look great with boot cut or wide leg jeans as well. I’ve even worn them to the office with dress pants which covered the high top part but they worked fine at the office, where I don’t have to wear heels if I don’t want to and believe me I don’t want to!
The rugged, high top boot is great for folks who are always on the go. Whether you’re going for a hike or just out and about doing your day to day routine, the Howitzer Boot is designed to keep the wearer moving. It had a padded tongue for extra comfort, has a water resistant Permahide upper and a Flexa-stride Memory Foam Sockliner. Add in the Mark II tested slip resistant rubber sole and you’ve got a boot that will not only keep your feet comfortable during any activity of your choice but one that will also keep your feet firmly on the ground. I’ve had my fair share of shoes come right out from under me so the anti-slip sole is just the cherry on top for me! It’s not a pretty sight to see me fall so I’d rather avoid it at all costs 🙂
Overall I like these boots, they’re lighter and more for every day in the Fall and Spring when I need them compared to my winter boots which can be too heavy for days that aren’t quite cold enough for winter boots. You do have to do a bit of brushing to clean them but so far I’ve been able to get any dirt off. I haven’t worn them in wet weather as I suspect they’re not meant for that but so far I love them like I do all of my Lugz shoes!
