Make Weeknight Cooking A Breeze
The 20-Cup Digital Pressure Cooker Multicooker | Rice Cooker From Aroma. Make delicious meals, in half the time, with this great tool.
I’ve recently been wanting to upgrade an older electric pressure cooker and was delighted to find this 20-Cup Digital Pressure Cooker from Aroma. I am retired, but as the primary caregiver for my mobility-impaired Mother-in-Law, saving time and effort are a must for my busy life. I love to cook for fun, but sometimes I need to just ‘get it done’. This gadget is a lifesaver in the kitchen.
Intuitive Control Panel
The STS (Saute`-then-Simmer) feature
The STS (Saute`-then-Simmer) feature is wonderful for browning meats for soups and stews, which is primarily what I use a pressure cooker for – that and making rice. You can also make cakes and other desserts in this versatile cooker, as well. I haven’t tried any yet, but watch out, waistline, once I do!
If You Love Cooking, You Need this Pressure Cooker!
My husband and I both enjoy cooking and decided to try our hand at making a Carnitas Enchilada in Mole Sauce casserole. The Saute` Then Simmer setting is a must for a rich, tasty broth… We added garlic, dark chili powder, chicken, and vegetable stock to the pork shoulder roast, and the cooker did the rest! We used a large (8-pound) pork roast, so we divided it in half and used our older pressure cooker, as well as the Aroma, to save time.
-The front panel of the Pressure Cooker is easy to understand and very intuitive.
-Lid turns and locks securely, for peace of mind.
-Nonstick interior makes cleanup a snap.
-Included accessories are of good quality:
Rice Measuring Cup
Cooking a large amount of food is not easily accomplished
I would like to see a larger capacity available in this machine. If you are only cooking for one or two, this is perfectly sized.
Recipes Would Be Helpful
I only found two recipes, included with the unit – someone not familiar with pressure cookers might find it a challenge to adapt to pressure cooking without better guidelines. While there are many, many resources available, online, for pressure cookers, I would like the manufacturer to include more “Tried and true” recipes, using common pantry items so that a novice could use this, right out of the box.
*When releasing steam, you need to be sure that the space above the vent is clear (don’t place the unit under a cabinet) – this is true for any pressure cooker though, and not unique to this one. I’d like to see this manufacturer include some kind of shield or trap for the steam vent, to keep spray to a minimum.
In all, this is an easy-to-use, small kitchen appliance, that should increase your productivity in the kitchen. To visit the Aroma website, go here: http://www.aroma-housewares.com/kitchen/appliances/MTC-8016.htm
