Make Your Budget Stretch
These are tough times in the economy. Costs keep going up, but your paycheck stays the same. You need to have savvy in order to find ways to make your money go a little further than it used to. Take some tips to help you keep your finances on track. More money in your pocket means more ways that you can enjoy life.
Take a Good Look at Your Spending Habits
Make a list of your expenses on a weekly basis and figure out where your money is going. Next, think about where you can trim your spending. If you are taking weekly shopping trips, try making it every other week. Turn eating out at restaurants into an occasional treat. Reduce your cable package to a basic package or opt for an Internet-based service that is much less expensive. Choose a cellular device plan that gives you an awesome deal. With each minor change that you make, you'll see a difference in your bank account.
Be a Comparison Shopper
When you shop, be sure to get the best deal. Look online and find competitors' prices. Use promotional offers and coupons to increase your savings. Shop online instead of wasting gas to go to the store. Buy at the lowest price to give yourself more bang for your buck.
Make Cash from Things You Own
It's time to clean house and make money while you are at it. Hold a garage sale and get rid of anything you don't need. Let go of unwanted pieces of furniture, old appliances, and electrical devices. If you don't want it anymore, you might as well get paid for it. Think about your jewelry box. You can always turn in your broken, gold chains to get some cash in return. Enjoy Life at Home
Your home is your haven. Make it the hub of activity. Hold your parties in your own backyard. Make the living room turn into a movie theater. Order take out when you don't want to cook, but don't want to have a hefty bill at a restaurant. Life is what you make it. When you find inexpensive ways to enjoy yourself, you will find that it is much easier to keep your budget on track.
Thanks for Sharing Your Information on Make Your Budget Stretch! Well, we don't go out to eat anymore, I haven't been shopping or at a mall in forever, We only have basic cable, and We have a free Cell phone that does nothing fancy! When I go to the grocery store, I check out all the ads out and check online and through all the coupons I have and figure out which store has the best deals on the things I definitely need (not the things I would like to have). We don't rent movies or go to the theater at all. We are planning a yard sale once the weather gets warmer outside! My Girlfriend does my hair for me and doesn't charge me, plus she cuts Tim's hair as well. We even got a consolidation loan and a lower interest rate to pay less per month. Tim's part-time job is only 5 mins from our home and since we never go to the malls or shopping, the car is generally parked all the time. I joined the local food pantry and go there every Thursday morning to see what I get and changed my grocery day to after the pantry, just in case I would get something from them that is on my need grocery list. I get samples of certain medications from my doctor so I don't have to pay way too much for prescriptions. The prescriptions we do get, do not cost us more than $10 for the month. I don't know what else we can do to cut back on spending because the only spending we do is to pay all the bills + the extra hospital bills, doctor bills, etc. etc. We pay for water, so I don't do laundry as much as I used to and the kids know not to leave water running if they are not using it! For Our Electric bill, we turn lights off when we leave rooms, TV's off when we leave the room, etc. etc. Personally, I'm going totally insane with not being able to do anything outside of the house other than necessities and being at home all day, every day drives me nuts! That's why I'm always online entering contests. To be honest, the reason I enter so many contests is that I know what we went through last Christmas and I'm entering for Birthday and Christmas gifts for my family now! Your tips are very helpful, however, I feel that we are doing all of them plus more. Thanks for your posting! I truly honestly do appreciate it and If you can think of anything else we can do, please let me know. Thanks again! Michele 🙂
