Powered by Mom Blog LOVES her minivan!

My husband won't believe I'm saying that because let me tell you 11 years ago when I was pregnant with our daughter my hubby was the one who said we should get a new car. Up until then all of the cars we had owned were always used and in fact my car my parents had given it to me. It was 20 years old but in great shape so I said to my husband why get a new car with a car payment? His reasoning of course was that we had a baby on the way and wouldn't a minivan be nice to have, easier to get around in with the baby and if I had to take our dogs (at the time we had 2 very big dogs one was 9olbs and one was over 100lbs).

I was clinging to some notion that I did not want to become some soccer mom who drove around in a minivan lol. So when I was asked to write this post (and btw I'm compensated for it but this is a true story) I thought perfect I have to share this story.

dodge caravan

My husband finally convinced me to at least look at the minivans. We looked at Hondas, Mazdas, Kias, Fords, Chrysler Dodge and more that I can't remember. Well I had to quickly admit that I saw and liked the advantages of some of the minivans! We had it down to the Dodge Caravan and the Honda Odyssey and in the end settled on the Dodge as the price was more suited to our budget and it had all the features that had finally convinced me that I might just like driving a minivan. So what were those features? Well I loved and still to this day LOVE my automated sliding doors and the automated back door for loading groceries, the dogs and more.

It was so handy when my daughter was a baby and I was hauling the baby carriers, car seats and of course the baby in and out with the diaper bags etc.. Even today I'm still hauling groceries, my daughter and now all of her stuff so handsfree for opening doors is fabulous! Now I can't live without it and I love sitting up higher in the van compared to a car. In fact we had a second car for a bit I hated being down so low to the ground I couldn't get use to it. My visibility with my Caravan is fantastic. My minivan now 11 years old with some dents, scratches and getting on with other issues makes me think in the next year or two we may have to get a new vehicle.

I know for sure it will be another minivan with automated sliding doors and now all the new ones have the feature I don't where the back seats fold down into the floor of the van. I'll keep driving my van until it can't be driven anymore but when it goes I'll still be a minivan mom and proud of it 🙂

If you're looking around for Car Dealerships in Greensboro NC they do have a Dodge car dealership if that's the way you want to go, just saying :). Are you a Minivan Mom or Dad? If so what do you drive?
