Modern Table Meals Review

in Family and Home on 04/13/15

Powered by Mom brings you a review on Modern Table Meals

When I was asked if I would like to review the Modern Table Meals I was intrigued when learned that the pasta the main part of these meals were bean based. I thought to myself how tasty could a bean based pasta possibly be, especially when it only takes about 15-20 minutes to make. Well let me tell you not only do I will I “eat my words” I’m happy to do so as long as I can continue to have my Modern Table Meals.

Modern Table Meals Italian Penne

Modern Table Meals come in four flavors, Italian, Mediterranean, Teriyaki and Southwest. Each has it’s own unique flavor but they all have the following in common:

  • Protein rich bean based pasta – 12-20g of protein per serving
  • No artificial colors or preservatives
  • Easy to make and ready in 15-20 minutes or less
  • DELICIOUS!

Modern table meals

I was lucky enough to receive a wonderful box of all of their flavors so that my family and I could try them all and more than once. Thank goodness we were given enough for several meals as they have become quite popular in my home! I admit I love pasta but for obvious reasons I can’t always eat it, so many carbs and the wheat didn’t always agree with me. A while back I switched to brown rice pastas which I like but it does have its own unique flavor. I love that with the Modern Table Meals has Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Folate and Potassium in it, so many nutrients in a delicious.

Italian

One of the first Modern Table Meals I decided to try was the Italian Red Lentil Penne with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce & Parmesan Herb Seasoning, delicious! It is so easy to make, you have the pasta, the spices for the sauce and if you need and/or want it, herbs for topping off the pasta.

Italian ingredients

You just cook the pasta, the boiling time varies for the pasta. For the penne one it said 8-9 minutes however for me it took about 15 minutes, not sure if my stove wasn’t hot enough or what. The important thing is to stir occasionally and keep checking until you figure out the timing for each pasta on your stove.

Italian Penne cooking

While the pasta is cooking you mix the sauce ingredients with water and oil according to the directions. Once the pasta is cooked, drained etc.. you stir in the sauce you just mixed.

Modern Table Red Pepper sauce

Modern Table Meals Mix

The serve and top with the smaller packet of herbs if you want. I find the pasta so flavorful I don’t need to add that but I do add pepper and a bit of parmesan because I love parmesan 🙂 Serve and enjoy it’s so easy and delicious. I’ve added chicken to the pastas sometimes which is a nice change but it really fills you up then as the Modern Table Meal just the way it is is filling.

Enjoy!

If you’re looking for a meal that takes little preparation, is nutritious and delicious then you definitely want to check out Modern Table Meals, yum!

I tried the plain pasta version (not the “meal” with spice packets) and it was amazingly yummy with a quick tomato sauce and broccoli. No need to “add meat for protein” since there is already TONS of protein in the bean pasta — no animal protein is necessary, which is a lovely and healthy plant-based alternative! Already looking forward to trying more of this brand.

What is amazing to me is that they are made from beans, I love that! I definitely need to get more beans into my diet but have a hard time doing it. With this I can have the “pasta” that I love and get beans too 🙂 My roommate is always trying to get more protein in his diet so he would love that these have 12-20g of protein per serving. I definitely look forward to trying these pastas.

Beans are high in fiber, which can help lower choles-terol and control blood sugar levels. While they’re not
a “wonderful fruit” like the rhyme suggests, the fiber in beans also helps regulate the digestive system.

I love the idea of a bean based pasta , as wheat and other ingredients bother me also and that the spices are separate so i can add my own strength ,cause i cant have but very little spice , looks quick and easy to make also another bonus !

I do like that these meals have Protein rich bean based pasta – 12-20g of protein per serving. They look very tasty and easy to make. The photos in the review are very good and helpful too.

It does sound weird having pasta made from beans, but it sure helps for the protein. I would like a box or two of the Modern Table Meals in my pantry. It sounds convenient, and tasty.

I love how the pasta is bean based! I could eat pasta everyday, but I know all those carbs are probably a bad idea, but this sounds like a great alternative. I love that they are quick and easy meals too. We have many late nights with my son’s extracurricular activities, so these would be a perfect dinner solution!

I love how there is so much protein in a noodle dish as well as how delicious they sound and the ease in making them.

I am diabetic and anything lower in carbs is good for me. I love that all the products needed for preparation of this pasta are included. Just add salad and garlic bread. I would love to try this product.

That actually looks really good. and super easy!! I may be looking into this very soon!! Especially with summer coming. I hate standing in front of the stove a long time when it’s extremely hot and with this, I wouldn’t have to! Thanks!

That’s an interesting idea: bean based pasta. I bet the Mediterranean or the Teriyaki would be amazing!
