I played my daughters game, Zelda, and we sat cross-legged on the ground in front of the TV with wires all over the place. It was interesting, but as I was working all the time, it was not something that I was ever really “into”.
Now, my grand daughters love the hand held games and there are no wires. It is crazy how small the electronics have gotten! The idea that she could add this game to her small collection would make her (and therefor, me) the happiest of people.
Meghan Varner says
Mario brothers on first Nintendo. Main difference to me is picture quality and speed and graphics in game!!

Oh gosh. The first ones we ever played were the ones in the arcade! You didn’t have them at home! I remember that first you used quarters then they went to a token system in most arcades… We played the ones like Pac-Man, Asteroids, Space Invaders and Centipede. Within a few years Atari came out with their console and we got one and played the very flat versions of the console arcade games!

LOL! Of course! My first video game was Centipede – passed down from a cousin who had gotten a brand new Nintendo! I ended up with playing a basic game of pong and centipede while they had the wonderful Super Mario Bros. There are so many things that have changed, like multiple people being able to play the game at one time – up to 8 in some cases. Quality and game choice are huge changes too.
Marthalynn says
I remember getting the Commodore 64 to play games! Yes, the games are so much better now.
Myrna says
I don’t remember the first one I played, but what a difference now.

I remember my first video game was PAC Man and the difference in the games from long ago to the videos of today are the quality of the games. Today the games are great color, 3D, and so real.
Juliette Mariano-Carlson says
I remember Pac Man. It was so fun. Video games have definitely evolved. The games these days are incredibly challenging and I like that a lot of them are educational too.

Mario World and Duck Hunt on the first Nintendo console..such a long time ago! Gaming systems now do so much more than just let you play games and the graphics have definitely changed over the years.

Oh yeah games have come a LONG way since the 80’s. The first game I remember is Pong on the Atari. I would have never imagined gaming would have come this far back then.
