If you love chocolate and peanut butter you will adore these chocolate peanut butter bars with a crushed Oreos base layer! These are a major hit in my home especially with my peanut butter loving cup daughter. Seriously she loves those Reese’s Peanut Butter cups so much and everyone knows it that for her her recent birthday all of her friends put some in their gifts to her!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Between the rich chocolate and sweet and salty of the peanut butter the crushed Oreo cookies base just takes these chocolate peanut butter bars to a whole other tasty level. Another reason to love these chocolate peanut butter bars besides their heavenly deliciousness is that they’re no bake, yep no oven required. So you can make these all year long which you might have to once your friends and family get one bite of these. They’re not going to be able to stop at one bite, or is that just my family?

Now who is ready for this delicious recipe? Here you go, you won’t believe how easy it is. The hardest part about this chocolate peanut butter bars recipe is waiting for them chill and set!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 Oreos
  • 14 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 ½ cups peanut butter
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Handful peanut butter cups, roughly chopped

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 pan with aluminum foil and set aside.
  2. In a food processor, add the oreos and pulse until a fine crumble forms. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe dish, then add it to the oreo crumbles and pulse for several more seconds until combined. Press mixture into the bottom of the pan in an even layer.
  3. In a large, microwave-safe dish, add 5 tablespoons of butter and the peanut butter. Melt in 30-second increments until melted and smooth. Stir in the brown sugar and powdered sugar, then press into the pan on top of the oreo base.
  4. Wipe out the bowl, then add the remaining 5 tablespoons of butter and the chocolate chips and microwave for 1 minute, then stir carefully and continue microwaving in 30-second increments, if needed, until melted and smooth. Pour over the peanut butter mixture and smooth out to the edges. Sprinkle with the chopped peanut butter cups, then chill for at least 3 hours in the fridge. Let stand for 5-10 minutes at room temperature before serving.

chocolate peanut butter bars

Now doesn’t that look easy? Especially for such a delectable treat as these chocolate peanut butter bars! Who wants to go and make some and like now? If you’re not ready yet that’s okay too just PIN them for later.

My daughter has declared that I need to make these chocolate peanut butter bars at least once a month. I’m not sure my waistline could take that but my tastebuds agree!

Do you use the whole Oreo for the crust or do you separate the filling from the cookies?

Use the whole Oreo cookie, along with the melted butter it helps keep the crust together 🙂

My Oreo’s are usually designated for dunking in milk, but I might have to make an exception and try these bars! They sound so good.

These look fabulous! How long will these stay fresh? Do you store in refrigerator? Can you freeze them or will chocolate on top change color? Thanks. Cant wait to make them!

Hi dee, you can store in the fridge, just use an airtight container. I left them at room temp (not a hot room) so they were ready to eat, if it’s colder they’re harder. You can freeze, we only had them in the freezer for a month, the chocolate color did not change but if it does they’re still good. I’ve been to a chocolate factory and they explained to me when chocolate gets that dusty look on top doesn’t mean it’s gone bad just fyi 😉

NoBake Chocolate and Peanut Butter Bars. Ok so I have never been a fan of “no bake” desserts. Especially when they sound like they should be baked. But after reading this article and looking at the yummy picture I am drooling and require a bib. Maybe it’s because I am getting older and can appreciate the flavor w/o having to heat up the entire house to achieve it I don’t know but these look fantastic and the recipe sounds really easy.

These look wonderful. I am not a fan of plain Oreos but paired with a dish like this and as a crust I’ve usually liked them. I am sure to try this one. Also because I really like the taste of peanut butter cups.

These look like a great treat, chocolate is the thing I crave more than anything else. I have everything but the pb cups, I am going to pick some up at the store this afternoon and put this together.

Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year wh Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year where we'll start spending more time outside enjoying the weather, grilling and the longer days of light and so much more. ☀️⛱ SponsoredI may have gotten a head start as we went camping for the first time this year and this really reminded me of how I love to sit outside and enjoy a good campfire or one in our firepit in our backyard and enjoying the quiet of the evening and stars twinkling in the night sky. 🌠⭐It also brings up memories of good food, grilled food my favourite kind with all those fun and delicious marinades, rubs and sauces to dress up and enhance the flavour of your food. Stay tuned for my upcoming recipe that has a delicious and creamy lemon sauce with chicken cooked in a #castiron pan. 🍋🍳I've teamed up with @ChickenDotCA to give one lucky winner an Outdoor Wood Burning Round Cooking Pit for the month of April. We took both of our dogs with us and we think we broke them 😆 #CleoTheDog & #NyxTheDog were both soooo tired by around 8:30pm each night that they would go to our trailer door & look at ys waiting to be let in 😁 while we continued to enjoy our campfire 🔥It was great to unplug there is no cell service let alone internet where we go so we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We share tips on how you can help an animal rescue whether in person or from home with help from the experts at an animal rescue that I volunteer with. *Sponsored* 💕♥️One tip is to donate supplies. 🪀🐈🐩Right now it's kitten season and the rescue I work with the cat department @threelittlepittiesrescue we're being asked to rescue mamas with kittens and kittens without mamas where we need milk replacement like the one from @tailspring which is goats milk based 🐐🍼We had some kittens try it out and they LOVED it! 🐱Check out these tips now by going to the smart.bio/poweredbymom link in our profile where you can find this article and more! 🐈In case you're wondering yes this photo of a mama cat and her kittens are actual kitties that 3LP has taken into their program. 🐱🐈‍⬛ They're not yet available for adoption as the kittens are too young and still need mama. The puppies in the other photos were also rescued by 3LP and I believe they've all found furever homes. 🏡💖😻https://www.powered-by-mom.com/how-to-help-your-local-pet-rescue/#ThreeLittlePittiesSavingKitties #TexasCats #TexasRescu #rescuedog #rescuecats #rescuekitty #rescuekittens #rescuecatsofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedogs #rescuedogsrock #rescuedogsarethebest #rescuedogofinstagram #rescuedogsarethebestdogs #ilovemyrescuedog #rescuedogmom #rescuecatmom #rescuedoglife #adoptarescuedog #rescuedoglove #rescuedoggy #rescuedogsarebest #lovemyrescuedog #rescuecatlove #HelpAPetRescue #HelpAnimals
