Pasta Lensi – Legume Pasta Review
Would you love to try a tasty legume pasta that is gluten-free and Non-GMO certified? Say hello to Pasta Lensi.
Pasta Lensi the one ingredient legume pasta, yes only one ingredient! Find out what there is to love about this fabulous legume pasta.
We were lucky enough to receive three boxes of Pasta Lensi, legume pasta to try for ourselves. We started with the red lentil fusili and oh what a yummy meal it was. First though I want to share more about the Past Lensi story.
Single Ingredient Pasta.
Why mess with something great? Sometimes the best things in life are the simplest, but some manufacturers add binders or starches to their legume pastas. Pasta Lensi Legume Pastas are single-ingredient, meaning that’s the only thing in them. Be it chickpea, black bean, or red or yellow lentils, our pastas deliver great taste and the benefits of legumes in a familiar shape and texture, using only one special ingredient.
As mentioned I tried out the red lentil fusilli first. As you can see in the photo below the pasta starts out red but when it’s cooked it’s a paler color, but oh so yummy.
Made with flour from ground red lentils, our Pasta Lensi Red Lentil Fusilli has a rich red hue that brings brightness to any dish. It catches sauce between its curls and provides 26 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per 100 gram portion*. It is also gluten free, vegan, low fat, low in sodium, cholesterol free, and a good source of potassium and iron per serving.
There’s also the Pasta Lensi Chickpea Casarecce & Pasta Lensi Black Bean Sedani you can read more about them HERE.
I made a garlic cream sauce to have with the Red Lentil Fusili and finished it off with what I call my pesto spices. Served with a side of garlic bread and I had a very filling dinner indeed. Doesn’t it look delicious?
So what did we think?
It cooks the same as wheat pasta, has the same texture but there is slight flavor to make you pause and go what is that flavor? I found it to be quite tasty and although they recommended tomato based sauces with this one I enjoyed the cream sauce with it.
I think if you’re looking for a pasta with wholesome ingredients or in this case just one ingredient, is gluten-free, vegan and Non-GMO certified you’ll want to try out Past Lensi the legume pasta. If you just want to eat healthier or try something new legume pastas are definitely worth a try. We enjoyed it and can’t wait to try out some more recipes from Pasta Lensi.
