A Perfect Princess Salon Day
Having a girly day can be so much fun for everyone!
My first two children were boys, and I, of course, love them to death. But I was that mom that also always wanted a girl. Luckily I got my wish with my third and my little princess is now 2.5 years old. So nothing makes both of us happier than having a “princess salon day” and Dressup Wholesale helps a ton. It’s totally girly and fun. My 8-year-old boy loves to indulge her but wasn’t too interested in participating, but her 5-year-old brother even played along for a little bit.
A Perfect Princess
Beauty Sleep
The first step to a perfect princess day is obviously getting enough sleep. You obviously want to look your best! Plus it’s a lot more fun for mom to get her sleep for once. However, sleep is genuinely restorative for both mind and body. I always notice my skin looks so wonderful first thing after a good sleep. Once my princess and I are up we wash and moisturize our faces to get them ready for the day. Dab on a little “perfume” of natural diluted essential oils and you’re ready for the princess salon.
Nails at the Princess Salon
Nothing makes you feel more glamorous than doing your nails. I have quite a collection of nail polish including regular, gel, and child-safe. We set up a special spot in her beautiful room and set up our “princess salon.” My princess often chooses pink or purple. For being 2.5 years old she does pretty well keeping still and trying to let them dry. I went with Halloween themed gel nails and she chose two different pinks today. My son chose a pretty gold sparkle that isn’t too noticeable. Neither of our nails ends up spectacular. We both bump them on the box and smudge them. But that’s okay. We have fun doing them and playing with colors and designs and that is what matters.
Makeup is a Must
You can’t be a princess unless you have some makeup and the princess salon is happy to oblige. For the littlest princesses, some simple colorful lip gloss and blush are more than enough. But if you have the time and inclination, it’s fun to do eyeshadows, lipstick, and blush. Makeup usually turns out just as messy as the nails, but my princess LOVES her look. She holds her mirror and admires her face from all angles. Then she goes to show her oldest brother how proud and pretty she is. He gushes over her appropriately. It’s great training for both later in life, LOL.
Dress up
It’s totally fun to play dress up again. Remember those dresses you wore for easter and never again? Break those out! Pull out your fanciest, most perfect princess dress to wear. Don’t be afraid to try a few on first though. That’s part of the fun! What color does your princess ear? Pink? Black? Make it your own.
Ribbon Crowns and Wands
Every princess needs a crown and accessories. I have some fancy crowns from my photo pageant days (yes, those were a thing), but when you really want to be a perfect fairy princess, you use the ribbon ones from Dressup Wholesale. These crowns are simple, but so much fun. A colorful tinsel adorns a wire band that is easy to twist to adjust to the proper size for little ones. As is, they fit my head perfectly. The cascade of ribbons down the back is so full it’s almost a second head of hair. They are long and flowing, and can fan out behind you or be twisted a bit to bunch more together. They also have matching wands perfect for any fairy princess. Both my boys and girl love running through the backyard, ribbons trailing and flying in the wind. Incredibly inexpensive, you can host a whole princess party for every girl you know quite easily. They also come in 14 different colors so you’ll always have one to match any taste or costume.
