My Thoughts on the Christmas Snowflake
The Christmas Snowflake incorporates so much of our family's philosophy. We are foster parents and have also adopted all three of our children. A family is far more than just blood. In the story, the Snowflake is wanting to find his perfect home. By placing the ornament on the tree at the end, it was almost as if we were giving him love and meeting his needs just like we did our own children. Even though Snowflake is not real, it was a great conversation starter with my almost five years old who came to us right before Christmas three years ago. We did the same for her... we loved her and took care of her needs. She is real, Snowflake is not but the symbolism of the story was so fitting for our family!
The book itself is a quality book with great magical looking illustrations that make you truly "feel" the book. Christmas just seems more Christmasy while reading this The Christmas Snowflake.
