Let’s Help Henry and Sukie Find a Home! Pet Adoption of the Day #AdoptDon’tShop
WASHINGTON, DC: Henry and Sukie are 8 year old bonded Jack Russell Terriers who are looking for a super-special adopter. Henry and Sukie both enjoy the company of other dogs and they ignore cats, and they just need a human who is not put off by giving them pills. While we won’t undermine the task of doling medication out, we know that to the right person it will really be “no big deal.”
Meet Henry and Sukie
If you’re not going to have a pet be indoors with you the majority of the time, give it lots of love, prepared to pay vet bills in an emergency and make a life time commitment then a pet is not for you. This is something we are passionate about and really want to get the message across to adopt not shop and that it’s a lifetime commitment of love!
Information from Henry & Suckie’s Adoption Post
PLEASE SHARE!! We are determined to find that special someone for Henry and Sukie!
Sara, the rescue’s adoption counselor, wrote, “Sukie and Henry are brother and sister who were found abandoned in a home. They have been with us since October, and the only application they have ever received just fell through.
Sukie and Henry are adorable and hilarious and the best of friends! They clearly love each other and like to stick close. Henry can be silly and likes to have a lot of attention. He also knows how to play fetch. Sukie is more reserved and sweet. They both love to get pets and will roll over on their backs for belly rubs.
Both are great with other dogs, and they ignore cats. Henry is great with all children, while Sukie enjoys older, calmer kids (especially girls) who understand not to chase her.
Henry has a mitral valve leak and Sukie has congenital heart failure. She takes a lot of pills every day (Henry only takes one pill for his heart condition) and the person who applied to adopt them didn’t think she could handle her pill schedule. A great household for them would be a retired couple or family with older kids who can help take care of them.
Henry and Sukie are house trained, love their crate, and walk well on a leash. They are incredibly well-behaved dogs. Sukie and Henry really excel in snuggling their human while taking a puppy snooze.
The adoption radius for City Dogs Rescue is DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Apply today to meet Sukie and Henry!”
GO HERE to share their story and hopefully help them find a home or better yet please contact the City Dogs Rescue for more information on adopting Dusy and Deli.

All too often people do not thing about the shelter dogs. Our best friend came from a shelter and he gave us years of unconditional love.

I love it that you’re publicizing these dogs. My Boo Boo lying next to me is a shelter pup, and I don’t know what we’d do without each other.
Margaret Vasut says
Two of my three dogs are rescue dogs. If I could, I would adopt every dog out there. Dogs do require work and many people don’t realize that. But the joy they bring is priceless.

spreading the word of pet adoption is so important. My dog is a rescue from the local human society and he is the best boy ever. I always tell everyone if looking for a dog, please adopt.

Sweeties!
Thanks so much for posting this, and keep it up! We need all we can to help animals get adopted. I had just posted on another birthday link of yours about what I enjoy doing for my birthday. We go and help out at animal shelters and spend time with the ones in need. (And donation). Love it! Please keep this terrific thing up on posting about the animals for others to find and adopt! And encourage others like this to follow your example. 🙂

These guys look like great pals. My sister just adopted a dog and it’s been really fun for the kids.

Yes! Pet adoption! Always.
there are so many great furry friends out there who need a good loving home!
My cat was not adopted from a shelter but adopted from a careless person who got him and then just decided “nah, I don’t want a cat” so he probably would have ended up at a shelter, or worse, hungry on the street.
He’s been with me now for almost 8 years and I’m grateful for my time with him. 🙂

Good article on pet adoption. It is a great thing to rescue and care for a shelter dog. My son has a wonderful boxer who was a rescue dog!

These two are such cuties. I think it is so wonderful to try and help those pets really in need of a new forever home.

I hope these sweeties find homes. My daughter brought home a mixed breed puppy last summer that someone gave her. We think Burton is part Jack Russell and part Chihuahua. He has brought a lot of joy to our family, although I wasn’t happy at first because we already had three other dogs and a cat.

Pet adoption is such a wonderful experience. You can give a great home to a poor dog or cat who was abandoned or abused.. It is not just about making you feel good but making them happy and feeling good also…

I thought this was a very good article. I hope they get adopted by a good family..I have pets of my own that are getting of age, and i do see the time when they will need more medical attention. thanks for sharing this..so many animals out there being abused, it just so sad……………

I only have rescue pets. Our new addition is darling Milo the Minpin. Milo spent 10 months at a notorious high-kill shelter as evidence in an animal abuse court case (they couldn’t adopt him out and they couldn’t kill him). He just languished in a cage poor darling. Free now he is happy and amazingly not all that neurotic in his forever home with us (and three cats).
April monty says
It’s so awesome there are programs for dogs like this some of them have been through so much already.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this. You have no idea how sick it makes me to see dogs and cats on the kill lists in almost every shelter in America. The top of the kill lists are Chi’s and Pit bulls. People need to quit be blind about the over population of many animals and stop buying from breeders. Cats should NEVER be brought into a shelter. They don’t need humans to exist and 90% are killed. So thank you!!!
