Let’s Help Bosco Find a Home! Pet Adoption of the Day #AdoptDon’tShop
(near) RICHMOND, VA: 13 year old Bosco is having a very hard time in the shelter environment, he is slipping all over the floors and his kennel is rough on his old bones. Other than his hind leg weakness, Bosco shows no major health concerns. He just needs a comfortable retirement home ASAP. PLEASE SHARE!
A volunteer wrote, “When Bosco’s former human died, Bosco had nowhere to go but here. But Bosco doesn’t let this get him down. Like so many of us in the autumn of our lives, Bosco faces each new day as the true gift that it is.
At the ripe age of 13, Bosco does have weakness in his hind legs. Because of this he cannot stay at the pound any longer than is absolutely necessary as he has trouble maintaining his footing on the slick hard floors of the pound. Once he is outside on the grass or gravel or on rugs, he does fine.
When Bosco first came in, he bunked with another dog. He is a big love bug and seems to get along with everyone. I have not had him tested with cats, but as old and laid back as he is, I suspect he wouldn’t care. I suspect he would also be good with children old enough to understand that he is an old guy and that they need to be gentle with him. I don’t think he would do anything to them but it is just they have to be kind to him…dog-savvy kids, certainly.
His ideal home would have few stairs and rugs handy for when he needs them. This is really his only health issue, as he is of normal weight, eats well, walks on a leash, is up-to-date on all shots and is heartworm negative. Bosco does take a generic pain medication (which is not at all expensive).
Please help us find this loving and deserving ‘young at heart’ lab mix his retirement home to spend his golden years. Transport (nearby) is available!”
