Let’s Help Yukon Find a Home! Pet Adoption of the Day #AdoptDon’tShop
(near) SALT LAKE CITY, UT: Handsome Yukon is 12 years old, very friendly with everyone he meets, and has been in need of a home for one year. PLEASE SHARE!
The lack of adoption interest in Yukon is simply due to his age. He’s sweet soul and he still has a youthful energy despite being an “old timer.” And, Yukon is quite healthy, too! Arctic Rescue is open to adopting Yukon out-of-state to an approved adopter, however, Yukon MUST be picked up at his current location in Utah. He cannot be transported.
HERE wrote, “Yukon has been with us for over a year, and he’s such a sweetie. As you know, often the seniors are simply overlooked, even dogs like Yukon who haven’t really ‘slowed down’ at all!
Yukon was adopted two years ago from another shelter. His owners kept him for a year, then decided they could not take care of him any more. When we brought him into rescue, we got all of his medical needs taken care of and he is now happy and healthy and looking for a home!
Yukon is very energetic for an older dog. While he may not be running marathons any more, he is still happy and eager to go on jogs or hikes. He is an animated older man who enjoys getting plenty of exercise, but is also happy to hang out with you around the house.
Yukon is friendly with everyone he meets and gets along well with other dogs. Given his age, it is important to make sure that younger, more rambunctious dogs are respectful of him and his space.
Arctic Rescue is based out of Payson, Utah. Our adoption process involves filling out an application, which includes reference checks and a home visit. We do adopt out of state, but are unable to transport dogs. We do ask that our adopters pick up Yukon in person.
If you are interested in giving this boy a great home for his golden years, please let us know!”
