Picture Rails for Hanging Photos and More!
I don't know about you but I have a stack of photographs and few pieces pieces of wall art that have been collecting dust because we haven't yet hung them up on our walls. Part of it has been making the time to hang them but the biggest obstacle has been figuring out how we want to hang them. I really don't want to just hammer a nail in the wall and put it up. I would like to do it properly so that it looks good, shows off the picture, accentuates the room and all that.
A few of the art pieces are copies but they still hold value and they also hold sentimental value as they were given to me by mother before she passed away. I had decided that I really want to make sure that any hardware that is utilized is hidden, yet holds the photographs/art securely so that the photos can be the centerpieces without any ugly nails showing. Unfortunately neither I nor my husband are experts on the art of hanging well art so when I've had time I've done a little research online, asking friends and even dropping in on an art gallery or two.
It has been very helpful to do this research as I think I've finally found at least one option that fits the bill and I had never even heard of them before it is a picture rail or click rail system. If you're like I was you don't have a clue as to what that is or you might be one of the better informed and experienced unlike myself. For those who were like me a picture rail has the following qualities:
- Can be mounted behind moldings, trim, finished carpentry or soffit
- Track is completely hidden
- All mounted hardware is hidden
- High quality and exclusive cables are utilized
- These inconspicuous cords and cables also work to minimize visual interference.
There are more features to it but those are the ones that caught my attention! Finally I think I have found what we want to use to hang our pictures and no ugly nails or any other hardware is showing. I've heard it's fairly easy to install as well so I can't wait!
What do you use to hang your pictures? Feel free to comment below we love to hear from you!
