Manuka Honey, Manuka Honey Soap, Manuka Oil. oh it's all about the Manuka and we love it!

I'm so excited to announce that I've become a Pacific Resource International (PRI) Ambassador. What does that mean? It means I fell in love with their products, especially their Manuka Honey, but you're probably wonderful what PRI is all about. I'm more than happy to answer that question and share with you why I'm loving their products.

The 411 on Pacific Resources International (PRI)

They are approaching their 30th anniversary and lays claim to being the first company to have introduced American consumers to Manuka Honey, which has been used by native New Zealand people for centuries and is known for its unique healing properties. Manuka Honey is named after the Manuka tree native to New Zealand.

An exclusive importer of fine products from such respected New Zealand family brands as Arataki, Nelsons Honey, Mossops Honey, Dominion Salt and more, PRI is more committed than ever to showcasing how products from New Zealand can enhance both the health and palettes of Americans of virtually all interests, ages and backgrounds.

PRI Manuka Honey products

My first found of products from PRI I was impressed right from the start. I love honey and had heard about Manuka honey but hadn't yet had the opportunity to try it. Besides tasting so good (it's a rich taste if you will) I had also heard about some of its healing properties which only intrigued me more.

While I love all of the products and I'm still learning about some of them right now I have to say that the Manuka honey and the Bee Venom  cream and the are my favorites. So I'm going to talk a bit more about those ones. The Manuka honey tastes so good, my daughter loves it so much she could literally eat it by the spoonful. It's a creamy texture with very rich tones to it. You have to try it for yourself to experience the flavor.

Manuka Honey

Manuka Honey is widely believed to not only treat minor wounds and burns, but to:

  • Help lower cholesterol
  • Help reduce systemic inflammation
  • Help treat diabetes
  • Help reduceear, eye and sinus infection symptoms
  • Help reduce gastrointestinal problems

Remember I said my daughter could eat the Manuka honey by the spoonful? Right after I took the photo below she dipped that spoon in for more and had her spoonful. LOL

Manuka Honey

My daughter is a picky eater so if she's crazy for the Manuka honey trust me it's that good. Some of the benefits of Manuka honey is that it contains a high level of antibacterial activity which is only found in Manuka Honey. To help maintain a healthy digestive function.

Nectar Balm - Active Manuka Honey & Bee Venom Cream

I was particularly interested in this one for it's anti-inflammatory properties which I thought might be good for my rheumatoid arthritis. It's a topical application, Nectar Balm-with Active Manuka Honey and Bee Venom has been developed for external use on aches and pains and bruises. It has a fine, soft texture and is able to be gently massaged into tender areas that may be swollen due to sprains and strains or bruising as well as the arthritic joint.

bee venom

It is widely used by people who have very localized arthritic pain and those who occasionally experience "break through" pain, a common occurrence with many arthritic patients. It is a product that should be in everybody’s medicine cabinets.

So what did I think of it? I've only been using it for just over a week but I have noticed that after I massage it in on my knees and wrists that about 30 minutes to an hour later that swelling has decreased. It also smells great, I think it almost smells good enough to eat but don't do that ;). It's a very creamy texture but once you massage it in it's not oil at all. In fact you have to massage it in otherwise I found it just stayed on top of my skin if that makes sense. I really like that it's not oily and of course I like even more that it gives me some relief from my arthritis.

Now those two are my favorites but that doesn't mean I didn't love the other products I totally do. I'm still learning the different ways to use the Manuka Oil & Tea Tree Oil. I like the scent of the Manuka Oil in Almond Oil way better than the Tea Tree Oil. Tea Tree has never been a favorite for scent but it's a must have for all of its benefits.

PRI 80% Manuka Oil in Almond Oil

PRI Manuka Oil from New Zealand is very gentle and can be used straight from the bottle for its antibacterial properties. It is a natural antiseptic suitable for the whole family (and pets) to use. It also has a wide range of antifungal activity. Therapeutic Action Manuka Oil has been shown to be effective when used as an: antibacterial agent, antifungal and as an anti-inflammatory.

Manuka oil

Suspended in an almond oil base, this highly purified essential oil has a unique floral note and high levels of active compounds to use for sore joints and inflammation. It is used often as a massage oil for lower back pain in pregnant women.

100% Pure Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree has a long history of traditional use. Australian aboriginals used tea tree leaves for healing skin cuts, burns, and infections by crushing the leaves and applying them to the affected area. Tea tree oil contains terpenoids, which have been found to have antiseptic and antifungal activity. T

PRI Propolis Soap with Manuka Honey & Tea Tree Oil

This soap is amazing and I don't find the tea tree oil scent very strong so I keep this one in our kitchen. I love that it does not dry out my skin which is an issue for me and my dish pan hands. This unique, all natural soap is used for face, body and hands and also provides necessary nutrients to delicate skin tissues. Propolis is suitable for all skin types. Propolis Soap is used to clear skin problems such as acne, pimples, psoriasis, fungus, different types of skin rashes and many other skin care problems. Propolis Soap has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, and is a non-allergenic.

PRI Manuka Honey Soap with Botanical Oils & Pacific Sea Salt

I keep this Manuka Honey Soap in our bathroom and it smells delicious, there's no other way to describe how good it smells. It has a  proprietary blend of real olive oil cocoa butter and three other premium-quality oils, as well as Manuka Honey and New Zealand Sea Salt. See what it smells so good? It helps restore and cleanse our skin, the new soap - made from scratch and containing no beads or pellets

 Manuka Cool Citrus Hand Cream

My new favorite hand cream is in my handbag at all times. Remember I said I had dish pan hands (I wish everything could go in the dishwasher) so my hands always feel dry and in need of a hand cream. This one is just so refreshing on my skin and leaves it silky soft without being greasy. PRI Manuka Cool Citrus hand cream is made with New Zealand Manuka Honey. Manuka honey is known for its natural healing and antibacterial properties that assist in nourishing the skin.

Last but certainly not least it's the PRI Bio-Gro Certified Pacific Sea Salt - Flaky

flaky sea salt

I've never had a flaky salt like this, use it sparingly as you don't need a lot on your feed to get that wonderful taste and it's so reasonably priced too. It can be used in cooking where a bit of salt is required or as a finishing salt. There are no chemical additives or processing aids used in the Pacific Natural Sea Salt production and there is just one ingredient - seawater. The Process is certified by Bio-Gro (Organic) New Zealand. All their Salt is certified Kosher.

  27. ~ Leave it to nature again. There has been a great concern of our honey bees being killed off from all of the sprays etc. Like my mother would say, God gave us everything we need on this Earth naturally and our country should be using life's resources to the best we can. If we have no bees, human life will not exist. We need the pees to pollinate among other things. I am so glad I found this and the PRI site, especially the honey products. I also read some of the blog from the PRI site and learned all of the natural the antibacterial properties of propolis and the honey. Also, how you had mentioned it helping the digestive system. I will be anxious to try that for my 20 yr old daughter has been having great difficulty with food and digestion. These pages are being saved to my favorites. Thanks.

  28. Nectar Balm bee venom cream is the only one I don't want to try. I have heard a lot of great things about manuka honey. I want to eat it and all the foods it can create. But after today when I apparently stumbled on a wasp nest and was stung all over, no thank you to the bee venom cream. I am still in a whole lot of pain, especially my face, from all their stings. Can't imagine anyone wanting a cream with this in it. I want out of pain myself.

It's called Manuka Honey because it's collected from the native Manuka trees in New Zealand 🙂
