Save time – Real Canadian Superstore’s Click & Collect Program!
Order your groceries online and they will be ready and waiting for you and your selected time at participating Real Canadian Superstores (Loblaw’s)!
I just discovered by favourite way to shop for groceries and that’s with the Real Canadian Superstore’s (or as we all call it THE Superstore) Click and Collect program! You go online to their site HERE and see if a store near you is participating in the Click and Collect program and if they are you can order your groceries online, select a day and time to pick up your groceries and they will be there waiting for you. Sounds like your kind of grocery shopping? Read on to find out more!
Notice how there’s a personal greeting for me with my selected store? Once you’ve logged in after the first time you will get this!
While I love shopping for clothes, shoes and so many other things I can’t say I love to go grocery shopping. It always seems to take me forever and then I have to wait in line, bag my groceries etc.. I always have too make sure I plan it on a day where I have a couple of hours to do a big grocery shopping trip. Well now I don’t have to worry about doing that any more as the Superstore offers their Click and Collect program!
I recently got to try it out and I must say I LOVE it! I went to their site and found that while it’s not the superstore closest to me there was one within a reasonable distance who offers the Click and Collect service. I went through their website selecting items from the different categories and putting them in my virtual cart.
Take a look here’s a screenshot when I was in the bakery section.
One thing to keep in mind that I didn’t realize at first (you might be more on the ball than I was) is that the website will at first bring up suggested items. You can just click on all items to bring up all choices for that category. You can make it so that you bring up all choices for certain kinds of foods like apples and pears for example. Take a look below!
I found this very helpful when I was looking for a specific type of vegetable or fruit or in some cases a certain brand of a frozen pizza for example. You can also add foods that you get frequently or just want to remember in the “my favourites” section so you don’t have to look for them each time. The website is easy to navigate which I was thankful for. I’m sure we’ve all been on those site that are a puzzle and make no sense at all.
One of the many features that I liked on their Click and Collect website was that I could specify if the item I wanted wasn’t in stock whether or not they could substitute and for what.
On the screens below you can see that we could tell them whether or not to allow substitutions and what are criteria is if we are allowing substitutions.
You could even be more specific and have different substitution criteria based on the food type.
When you get to the checkout page it shows you all of your items, the total, tax and your pick up details. I haven’t yet selected a day or time on the screenshot below but once you do it will show up on this screen. In fact you can see on the right how it says I still have to select a pick up date and time.
Once you get to the store for your designated pick up date and time you can park in a spot that is reserved for the Click and Collect program. You call the designated phone number (provided to you when you check out), let them know you are there and they bring out your groceries to you. How easy does that sound. Of course this requires that you pay via credit card when ordering online. If you want to pay in cash you can do that, you either bring the exact amount or if you don’t have change let them know when you call and you might have to go in to get change. We had to do that but it was still so quick!
My husband was worried that the frozen items would have started to defrost as he assumed they had the groceries sitting out somewhere. I don’t know what they do but even by the time we got home (about 20 minutes) the frozen items were still rock solid frozen.
I did not get a lot of produce on my first big shopping trip with them but the produce I did get was fresh and there was nothing wrong with it. They did make a few substitutions but they all worked out in my favour as the items were less and were still name brands. We had a great experience as you can tell with the Real Canadian Superstore’s Click and Collect program and we will be using it again. We’ll use it even more when the Superstore closest to us is a part of the program!
If you’ve tried this program let us know what you thought about it!

I don’t live in Canada but stores in the U.S do the same. It isn’t something I would use because I like to see items before buying. Especially meats and produce. For canned goods and cleansers, yes, I would.

This sounds like a great way to do your grocery shopping. I am like you, I do not like it. I wonder if they have this in the US. I will have to check this out. Thank you for sharing
