Rise of the Guardians is a fun family movie that everyone can enjoy. It has humor, teaches some important morals and is creative and fun. The Guardians consist of Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fair, the Sandman and a reluctant new guardian Jack Frost. I love the twists and turns of this movie that keeps everyone interested. My daughter thought it was hilarious that Santa had a Russian accent and the Easter Bunny (played by Hugh Jackman) has an Aussie accent. Sandy (the Sandman) quickly become a favorite among these movie watchers as he’s so cute and we loved that instead of “speaking” his words were various symbols and characters displayed above his head. We thought that was so creative and it got a giggle out of my daughter every time and I think it was brilliant as we knew each time what Sandy was saying!
My daughter is 11 year’s old and doesn’t like scary movies at all unlike most of her friends, she doesn’t like anything to be even slightly scary. There were just a couple of scenes with the villain the Bogeyman with his dark shadows and nightmares that she covered her eyes for so some younger children might find that too scary. However overall I still think it’s a wonderful movie that shows vastly different characters working together as a team, overcoming their differences for a common goal – to save the dreams and hope of children everywhere. So overall we give it a 5 out of 5 stars and we love the movie so much that we’ve pre-ordered our copy with Mommy Bear Media so that we can watch it at home whenever we want.
