Robin Williams Died August 11, 2014 – Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family
I just learned that Robin Williams died this morning and all I can say is tragic. I feel like I’ve grown up with Robin Williams and I guess in a way I have, the actor who was age 63 I remember watching him on Mork and Mindy as a child and following him through a variety of movies. He’s been Peter Pan, he’s been the voice of the Genie in the Disney movie and he has brought laughter and tears to so many.
A world without Robin Williams will be slightly less enjoyable as I feel he had a wonderful impact by sharing his talent with all of us. I just wanted to put it out there and say let’s all send our prayers to his family in this tragic time.
As quoted: President Barack Obama has issued a statement on Williams’ passing, saying, “Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets. The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin’s family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams.” I think the President has said it well. I think I will go and watch Mrs. Doubtfire now and try to enjoy and remember what a truly talented artist he was and that he will always be remembered for that.
