  2. We keep the kids busy by going to the park, some of them are playing baseball. So you kind of live out of your car then anyways.

  9. These are really great ideas. Sometimes I think it would be better than to go out and get all these expensive toys to just get some old boxes that your child could fit in because everytime I would get a toy for our daughter she would get the box and start playing with it and throw the toy to the side lol.

  11. I saw today where someone took a large shipping box and let their LO color ALL over the inside. It was really cute, and looked like it could have taken up some time. 😀 I love the ideas you have here too.

  17. I am keeping my grandchildren for my daughter this summer, and some days I am at a loss on how to entertain them and keep them happy. You have just given me a multitude of things to do with them. I just wish I had the imagination to come up with things like this on my own!

  18. Wow! Love all the great ideas! Wish I'd some of these when my kids were younger! I especially like the snack tackle box for car rides. This would also be perfect for playdates and park time. I was never this organized! My very favorite idea is the liter bottle sprinkler! I think I may do this tonight, as it is watering day (we're on 2 day/week water restrictions) and it's hot out there! Thanks! I'm going to pass on this link to my niece who has two small children! I think she will especially love the tin foil river! 🙂

  19. Does that soda bottle really work? Does it move around a lot or does the weight of the water inside the bottle keep it in one place?

  20. I definitely have to try the snack tackle box. My daughter and I are planning a trip to Alabama soon and a box filled with this many snacks would definitely tie her over until we get to grandma's house.

  21. we're in the middle of drought-like conditions here, so we're conserving water... and i've heard that the bottle on the hose doesn't work well unless you have really high water pressure... so we won't be doing that even when the drought threat is gone 🙂

i DO love the idea of the magnetic road trip games! i think that's excellent even for games we play at home - stuff gets scattered and lost WAY too easily!

    thanks for sharing all these!

  23. Great ideas. I am going to use the tin foil river and put it on my long hill in the backyard for the grandkids. They come 2 times a week and it has been hot lately. I'll let them use the hose for their river and they can float a toy or whatever other small objects they want. I'll set the whole thing up on a simple tarp.

  25. Will share these ideas with my daughter for my two-year old granddaughter. I love the idea of the simple packing with putting a full outfit in each zip-lock bag for a trip..... can work for simple day trips, too, since, at her age, she often needs a change of clothes.
