#SearsClubPoints Easy Peasy Shopping

in Family and Home, Uncategorized on 10/23/12

Powered by Mom went shopping at Sears!

I have to admit it’s been a long time since I went into a Sears store as I usually shop online. I have ordered from the Sears catalogue several times in the past and have always been very happy with what I have received and the service. We bought our washer and dryer at Sears almost 12 years ago a Kenmore set of course and we still use them today, we love Sears for appliances!

It also seems like for us and many people I know we love to receive the Sears Christmas Wish Book and thumb through it. We actually seem to look out for it and even as a child I remember looking at all the wonderful pictures in the Sears Christmas Wish Book even my husband has to take a look through it.

As I mentioned I tend to do a lot of my shopping online. This time though it was a nice day and my husband and I thought we go for a drive and head out to a shopping mall that we like but don’t get to very often which of course has a Sears. I had a good reason to go shopping of course as I had some Sears Club Points to use and we had to decided to check out some stoneware dishes.

Just a quick note in case you didn’t know here are just some of the benefits of Sears Club Points

  • Earn DOUBLE points at Sears everyday
  • 1,000 points = $10 towards anything at Sears, including travel
  • You can also donate them to Sears in your Community
  • Up to 2% back every time you shop with a Sears Financial™ Mastercard® or Sears Card,

So off we went to choose some new dishes as we’ve had the same dishes that my husband Paul and I bought about 15 years ago. These were to be our “temporary” dishes as they were cheap, all white with the fruit pattern I’m sure you know the ones. So I decided it was time for some new everyday dishes and these I wanted to see in person to see the colours, the quality and more.

There were some fun patterns that I didn’t even know that existed like this Disney® Eeyore® 4-Piece Dinner Set, how cute!

Now don’t laugh too hard but for some reason my husband and I were worried about using our Sears Club Points card. I’m not sure now what exactly we were thinking that it wouldn’t work or that it’d be a complicated process or something. Obviously we weren’t thinking as when I used my points in the past online it was easy. Anyways we decided to test it out first by getting a few smaller items that we wanted such a sodastream syrup, they had our favorite flavor orange mango. I didn’t even know they sold the syrups and accessories for sodastream there so I was very happy to find that out! As well we also took up to the cashier these high quality non-stick cookie sheets that I had not been looking for but they were so incredibly cheap only $2.99! They were the large cookie sheets and a fantastic quality, I grabbed three of them.

Up to the counter we went to pay for these four items, the lady rings it in I give her the card and hold my breath (I know silly of me but I was). She swipes the card, hands it back to me and tells me what I have left on the card to spend. I’m like that’s it and she smiles and says yep. Wow talk about easy peasy shopping!

The Sears Club Points card is just like a gift card, so easy to use and when I experienced just how easy it was I was even more cautious with guarding my points card since it’s so easy to use you don’t want to lose it! Off we went to go look at the dishes and we were lucky to find the ones in the picture above the Pfaltzgraff® ‘Tahoe’ 16-Pc. Dinnerware Set and they were on sale for 1/2 price. I liked the colour of them and they will go with the earth tones in our dining room. Unfortunately they only had 1 set left and we needed at least 2 sets and 4 place settings is not enough especially if we have guests.

We asked a sales associate if they had any more sets and she said no, however, they were giving out rain checks and she asked us if we would like one. Yes please! She asked us for how many sets we wanted a rain check and gave us a slip with the info and told us we would receive a call once the dishes cam in. Wow is all I can say about the wonderful and helpful service we received it was top notch. We had questions about another item and another sales associate helped us with this and again I was impressed with the high level of service that we received.

I love the variety of products from clothes to kitchen gadgets and appliances that you can buy at Sears and after our great experience with the service of the associates and how easy it is to use your Sears Club Points I may not online shop all the time now 🙂

Thanks Sears! I can’t wait to get the call for my new dishes and to come and pick them up!

Disclosure – I am participating in the Sears Club Points program by Mom Central Canada.  I received compensation for my participation in this campaign. The opinions on this blog are my own.

I used to love shopping at Sears many moons ago, but then it seemed liked the quality of some of their products went downhill while their prices went up, so I stopped shopping. Their Christmas Wish book used to be about 5 inches thick and the last time I received one it was only about 1.5 inches thick. Sounds like maybe it’s time to give Sears another chance and see if they have changed since my last visit.

i like sears because of their points. i use my credit card to make purchases and i bought my canon dslr camera through sears. it was expensive and sears called to verify my purchase was legit. they have always had good customer service and has always been a trusted place to buy any type of small appliances and vacuums too

I’ve always enjoyed shopping at Sears since I was a little girl. The Sears Outlet by our home has had a freebie Tuesday for several months. Each Tuesday you can get 1 item of clothing for free. Helps to stretch the family clothing budget!! But the best part of Sears for me has always been Christmas. Loved the Sears Catalog back in the day and still love the way they decorate the store!!
