Get rid of grime and dirt with the power of the Shark Genius Steam Pocket Mop
Who gets excited about a steam mop? Well that would be me because that’s what I usually use to clean our floors in our home. I only use either steam or non-toxic, natural products. We don’t have carpet just hardwood, laminate, tile and one area with linoleum. Between allergies, health concerns and just not like the smells of those chemical type of cleaners I’ve been steam mopping my floors for years. My challenge is finding one that works well and doesn’t weigh a ton for me to lug around the whole house. Say hello to my new favorite steam mop that is blasting dirt away the Shark Genius Steam Pocket Mop System.
I know that it’s not exciting to talk about steam mops and cleaning floors so I’m just going to get down to why I like it, share some information and show a quick video of the Shark Genius Steam Pocket Mop in action. The Shark Genius Steam Pocket Mop is now the fourth steam mop I’ve owned over the years. I like it’s lightweight, the cleaning pad gets used on both sides so you can clean a large area before you have to change the re-useable cleaning pads. It removes up to 99.9% of common household bacteria from sealed hard floors!
I like that I don’t have to keep holding down a button to get the steam from the mop. That might not sound like a big deal but after having another mop where I did have to keep holding a button down it was a pain. When you’re cleaning 2 levels of a house, trust me the little things become big things. The cleaning pad is the largest one I’ve seen and you can use both sides of it. All you have to do is flip it over. When I go between the regular steam and the steam blast I can flip from one side of the cleaning pad to the other. Watch the super short video below to see that.
As the video says I’m holding my phone with one hand and mopping and flipping the mop with the other. With my bad wrists if I can do that seriously anyone can. It picks up everything, so much so it is a bit gross to see how dirty your cleaning pad is after you’re done but at least I know it’s getting the job done.
I also love that I don’t have to touch that yucky cleaning pad when I’m done. You just push down on the release button and the pad comes off, I usually do that right into my washing machine. I haven’t even told you the best part (yes there’s more) this mop is two in one. It can also be a spray mop for those quick mop-ups of spills and other things.
It’s easy to do you just switch the mop head from handle to the next. I have a natural cleaner that I use to spray the floor when I use the spray mop version. As you can see above there’s even a holder for a spray bottle. I use steam mop the most though and go through the two cleaning pads each week, it’s easy to use and lightweight. The only thing that would make it better is if it was cordless and I didn’t have to plug it in anywhere. I’m usually using the steam blaster setting as it’s just so powerful and get this job done and quickly. It’s powerful and the floors dry quickly because it’s not a wet mop mess, it’s hot steam.
While one machine is more than enough to clean the entire house I’m tempted to get a second Shark Genius Steam Pocket Mop, one for each floor. I also like the idea of having extra cleaning pads in case I get behind in the laundry which let’s face it, it happens. You can go to the Shark website to see more videos on how it works but once you’ve tried it you’ll want one trust me. If you want to clean without chemicals get a Shark Steam Mop!
