SOJOY Heated Car Seat Cushions Review

Winter has been...finicky this year. I never know if I'm going to wake up and it's 70 and sunny or 5 and icy. I'm fortunate enough to have a remote start on my car, but I don't like to run it too long with the pollution and safety issues. This means the car is often still quite a bit chilly when we load up to go to school. The SOJOY heated car seat cushion has been great for helping to warm up quickly in the chilly car.

The Universal Heated Car Seat Cushion

Forgive my messy car, I do have three young kids! Ha! This seat cover/cushion is what I would call "full-sized." It covers the whole seat and back. It's made of a sort of stretchy neoprene polyester fabric and is very lightweight. Each little section has a sort of squishy memory foam that it's very thick but does add a bit of added comfort. It plugs right into any standard 12v car charger/cigarette lighter. There are straps to hold it in place around the headrest, the "fold" of the seat where the seat meets the back, and the front that hooks down around underneath. These are adjustable to fit just about any size seat and keep it secure.

The controller for both cushions looks like above. Yes, it's upsidedown. It has a low, medium, and high heat setting and auto shuts off after 45 minutes. I found it does take 3-5 minutes to heat up so you can feel it, but once it does, it is HOT! It says it heats up to about 115 degrees Fahrenheit or about 46 degrees Celsius. I timed it once and it does heat up faster than my engine warming the car, so it's nice to get it started as it will warm me up first. I typically start it on high then switch it to low once it's warmed up.

SOJOY Heated Car Seat Cushion Auto Drivers Wedge

Quick personal story: Last December I fell (was pulled down) at the skating rink and landed right on my tailbone. It's the third week of February and it still hurts. Especially when I sit for extended periods or put direct pressure on it. So, I LOVE this cushion! LOL, The cutout for your tailbone actually has a removable piece so it can function as a regular solid wedge as well. It has hooks and removable straps that hold it onto the seat around the back at the base and down under the front to keep it in place. The power cord is removable and plugs in at the back right side. It also takes about 3-5 minutes to heat up and gets to about 122 degrees Fahrenheit or 50 degrees Celsius. I think this one is designed to get warmer because it is a thicker cushion. It has a breathable sort of mesh fabric and memory foam type filling. It almost feels too soft to be supportive, but it really is quite supportive and takes a lot of pressure off my tailbone.

Conclusions

I love both of these heated car seat cushions! They certainly make my morning drives much more enjoyable and warm. I love the full length one in the driver's seat so my back and everywhere warms up nice and quick. I'll swap in the wedge when it's chilly and I have to spend more time sitting in the car. I feel overall that they are made well. The straps hold tight and are easy to adjust. The heating elements get nice and toasty in just a few minutes. They are nothing truly outstanding, but they work and are comfy.

  1. I could've used those this week! When I drove my daughter to the train station at 6 in the morning, It was in the high 30s or low 40s depending on the day. By the way, I like your new logo, here and on your email. It's very pretty.
