Gifts Your Kids Will Love – Kids Crafts and They Can Be a Barista!
I have two girls and every holiday season I tell myself they will each get gifts that aren’t solely electronics and “screen time”. Some years I do better than other times, more often when it comes to my littlest Fallon who is now 6 years old. We were recently sent a few items from RoseArt and LaurDIY. You can only imagine a 6-year-old’s excitement when she saw unicorn crafts and “coffee”
Creative Café Barista Bar and LaurDIY Kits
It is no secret that I love coffee, like drink it all day no matter day or night. Fallon sees that and often wants sips from it. When it’s an OK time, I allow it. I mean we are talking speciality Starbucks type coffee, so really more soy milk and sugar than anything else. So when I saw this Creative Café Barista Bar there was no way I was saying no, as I knew she would love it. With this, she can make her own “coffee” and feel like an adult. Don’t worry, they aren’t really drinking coffee, it’s all for fun.
The Barista Bar is super simple, nothing to heat up and they get to use real milk (or milk sub of your choice). The longest part was setting it up which really only took a few mins of clicking the arm in place, putting batteries (AA) and the side pieces. I had to follow one of the recipe cards to really get the hang of it at first, but after that, we had it down and Fallon was able to do it on her own.The cutest part of the whole thing is the design moulds. You put on top of the cup and sprinkle to create the design you want.Tip: Creative Café Barista Bar comes with chocolate and strawberry mix, but only enough to make one or 2. If you want, you can buy hot cocoa mix and strawberry mix to use after the supplied packets were used up and it works like a charm.
The video is pretty raw, so I apologize. I took it just having fun when Fallon used it for the first time. I was planning a different video, but her reaction is so priceless that I just had to share it with you. It shows the pure delight of a child.
So if you have kids like mine that want to be like us and drink “coffee”, this could be perfect for them. Also being $30 or under, it’s a great gift idea especially for the holidays.
Doing crafts is so much fun. I really do try to do some type of craft with my kids each week. We are all so busy that it’s a great way to just sit and relieve some stress. LaurDIY has some products that are cute, fun and kids love.We got a few options, but the one Fallon decided to do was the Balloon Unicorn (not very shocking as she has everything unicorn). She’s only 6, so she needed a lot of help especially when it came to tying the strings.Once the unicorn was stuffed and tied properly it was time to have Fallon really take over and decorate. I loved that no hot glue was gun required (as was Fallon).I’m sure you are looking at our Unicorn and think it doesn’t really look like the one on the box. I’ll laugh with you and agree that it doesn’t. Fallon didn’t really care that it didn’t look exactly like the box. She loved it and gave it to Grandma as a present. What Grandma doesn’t like homemade gifts right? 😉Each kit is around $15 which in my opinion is a great price point for gifts. Even a better price point for your little ones to give to their friends (which we are planning on giving the Mini Plushie Kit) to Fallon’s best friend Hadley for Christmas.I highly recommend you take a look at what LaurDIY has to offer. Who knows, it may be perfect for your family. I know we had a blast making the unicorn.
