I Love Clothes!
Yes I am a confessed clothes hog. I love clothes and I know I’m not the only one, many women and men love to have a variety of clothes. There certainly is no shortage of items to choose from to buy and stores to buy them from. However, now that I no longer pull in the management salary I once had when I worked at the university I have to be very strict about my budget.
I can hardly believe it’s May already and Summer is approaching and I would really love some new clothes, here comes the clothes hog! No, no I have to restrain the clothes hog but how do I do that and still treat myself to some new clothes?
Lucky for me I’m a woman! Why do I say that? Well because we are lucky because we can choose from so many different types of clothes. There are womens sweaters, dresses, capris, skorts, blouses, tank tops and I could go on and on. Believe it or not having a variety of pieces to choose from can help with staying within a budget.
How does it help? By choosing a few key pieces that can go from daytime casual to fun time evening. With Summer coming I’ve thought about a few key pieces that I would like to have that will help to create more than one outfit. Here are the pieces that I think will work wonders for summer:
- Light colored capris and/or nice flowing skirt to the knees
- Tank top – if you don’t already own one
- Dressier top
- Sweater/cardigan – something dressy
Even you already own different styles/colors of capris/skirts, tank tops and sweaters you can easily interchange them to dress things up or go more casual depending on the styles of each one. Keep in mind when I talk about a sweater in this case it is for summer so it should be something with light fabric and I’d go a little dressier. Cardigans are perfect as you can take them off if you’re too hot, have a short sleeve or long sleeve one and there are so many wonderful styles to choose from.
To help give you a better idea of what I would envision here are some pictures of items you could mix and match for both casual and dressier ensembles.
You could have a white cami or any other light colored top. Change the cardigan to something more casual and it changes the look too. There is so much I could do with these three pieces as you could also wear the cami with jeans and and wear the same cardigan or another one for a completely different look.
