The Perfect Bag for Busy Moms
I Was Skeptical until I Tried the Sash Bag
When it comes to purses and handbags, I don’t need much. I want something secure, easy to wear, and doesn’t look totally out of place when I wear it. I have used backpack style bags for years now, and I love them, except I only wear them on one shoulder and they constantly fall off. When I did rarely wear a strap on each shoulder, it was difficult to find the right balance. I was constantly adjusting the straps. Then I got to try the Sash bag. It sounded good, but once I used it, it was clear it was the perfect bag to use as a busy mom.
Need to get my payment ready while holding a kid? No Juggling, no problem.
Fit and Forget
I’m so used to having a purse or a bag that is always just there. I have to always be aware of it, I’m constantly shifting it and juggling it. And when my hands also have to hold kids’ hands, pay at the store, or do any number of other things, it becomes a real nuisance. I just didn’t realize it until I didn’t have to do it anymore.
The Sash bag has a completely adjustable strap, so it sits exactly where you want it to. It’s also done with snaps, so it stays in place, but the strap is thick enough that I don’t notice snaps digging into my shoulder or side either. And because it’s designed to wrap around my side, everything is right there and I don’t have to worry about someone trying to pickpocket me. To get to my cards and such they’d have to undo the zipper that is right next to my body, which I would certainly notice. It is secure and keeps everything handy. Plus all the pockets are RFID protected.
Handy on the Go
There are two open pockets on the outside that are perfect for slipping my phone into. I have a large iPhone8+ and I can easily drop my phone in and lose sight of it, so there is no chance it’s just falling out. It’s also just right for my sunglasses. Opposite those pockets, sitting right next to my body are two more pockets that are zippered. These are great for my keys, or for when I want to keep my phone extra close and secure. These pockets are also deep, so you can put whatever you need in there really. It’s perfect for a passport if you are traveling, or some carry-on supplies like your toothbrush and toothpaste.
The middle sections are your main pockets and each features to larger open pockets just the right size for hand wipes, chapstick, or anything like that. They also have a cardholder section that acts as your wallet. I tend to keep my IDs and such on one side and my payment card in another. But what is wonderful is that no matter where I put anything I can easily access it all with one hand. Everything is right there and easy to get to. Even the pockets that are sitting towards the back of my body. It shifts forward easily enough to simply unzip and grab whatever I need.
Style and Sustainability
The only downside to my bag is it is black leather, and with the heatwave in the midwest right now, it is insufferably hot. The bag does get hot quickly and the leather does not breathe for certain. Sash does offer vegan leather, denim, and other material options as well for their bags. So keep in mind the color and material for what you want to use it for. They even have junior-sized bags for your younger fashionista.
While I’m usually not a fan of leather, I was happy to know that the leather they use comes from a meat factory where the skin would otherwise be wasted. The factory workers were taught new and more sustainable ways to harvest the meat and save the skins for more complete use of the animal. That is something at least I can get behind.
But like I mentioned before, there are also vegan leather options that are much more animal-friendly as well. The hardware is top-notch and feels solid and secure. My kids often cling to me or grab at me, which often means they are yanking on my bag. While other bags slipped off my shoulder or smacked them in the face when they fell, this bag not only puts up with the abuse but stays in place as well. A HUGE plus for me as a mom.
Perfect Bag for Moms
So if you’re a mom that can use a bag that stays in place, stays close and secure without worrying about it, and puts up with the abuses that kids can inflict, I cannot recommend the Sash Bag more. I do want to get a slimmer wallet to fit in it for my cash, both other than that I can find it lacking in nothing. It has officially swapped out my old bag on my shelf and I have been using it daily. When I am wearing it around I hardly realize it’s there, it conforms so easily while staying out of the way. Yet I can easily get whatever I need from it with a single hand. Which is often all I have with 3 kids to keep track of.
