I’m Michelle aka Powered by Mom. I’m married with one daughter, my hubby was my high school sweetheart, our two dogs Nyx and Cleo and our cat Oliver. As you can see we’re a family of animal lovers. We love to travel when we can, try different food and activities all over the world and enjoy being together. My passions are writing, travelling, creating new recipes, encouraging people to adopt not shop and just to enjoy life while we can.
As an animal lover I also volunteer with a rescue organization called Three Little Pitties All Breed Rescue. I'm part of the cat program Three Little Kitties Saving Kitties which tries to save as many cats as possible in Houston, Texas which has a huge overpopulation fo cats and they euthanize far too many cats (and dogs) we want to change that. Please check out their Facebook page and consider donating https://www.facebook.com/ThreeLittlePittiesRescueSavingKitties

My favorite educator who taught me facts about the world was my dad.
My favorite educator who taught me emotional maturity was my mother, who told me about Jesus and demonstrated the value of unconditional love through many trials – and that lesson has served me the most in life of anything I ever learned.
My favorite educator beyond them is myself, because I have always loved learning and teaching, and am still getting to teach my grandboys.

My favorite educator is a college professor I had in my social work courses for my degree. She let me be her student assistant in my senior year (ages ago, lol) and I will never forget her. I learned so much from her in her classes and while I was interning for her. When I graduated from college, she gave me an inspirational poster and I still have it today. Her family was also recognized in the town, for being a foster family to international children, several of which she and her husband adopted. She was recently honored by the University as a teacher of the year from all the professors at the University 🙂

I am happy to say that I had some most influential teachers who helped to educate me. There were several in elementary school who, to this day, I look back with fond regard. Those were most happy times. High school and college teachers in my past also made a lasting impact. Mrs. Woolman was probably the favorite!
