Dollar General is teaming up with P&G for the month of September to celebrate educators everywhere! The Everyday Heroes Campaign aims to honor educators who make a difference in their students lives and to be at their best.
During September, Dollar General is recognizing Kimberly Shearer, an English teacher and library science teacher at Boone County High School in Florence, Ky., as its Every Day Hero.  As an eight-year veteran of Boone County High School, her commitment to educating our youth and advocating for 21st century literary skills through the use of technology helped earn her the title of “Kentucky Teacher of the Year.” When she is not busy helping her students succeed, Kimberly is spending time with her husband and two daughters.
And to help you with even more savings and deals at Dollar General, make sure you grab a paper this Sunday, September 1st where you will be able to find the new P&G Brandsaver!

  1. I had an English teacher in middle school who had us write journals & so I think she got me where I am today with writing, social medial & my blog. She was a real inspiration.

  2. My favorite educator who taught me facts about the world was my dad.
My favorite educator who taught me emotional maturity was my mother, who told me about Jesus and demonstrated the value of unconditional love through many trials - and that lesson has served me the most in life of anything I ever learned.

My favorite educator beyond them is myself, because I have always loved learning and teaching, and am still getting to teach my grandboys.

  3. My favorite educator is a college professor I had in my social work courses for my degree. She let me be her student assistant in my senior year (ages ago, lol) and I will never forget her. I learned so much from her in her classes and while I was interning for her. When I graduated from college, she gave me an inspirational poster and I still have it today. Her family was also recognized in the town, for being a foster family to international children, several of which she and her husband adopted. She was recently honored by the University as a teacher of the year from all the professors at the University 🙂

  4. I am happy to say that I had some most influential teachers who helped to educate me. There were several in elementary school who, to this day, I look back with fond regard. Those were most happy times. High school and college teachers in my past also made a lasting impact. Mrs. Woolman was probably the favorite!

  5. I have a lot of family in education, they're all my favorites! My sister teaches 7th and 8th grade math, my brother in law is the high school principal, my mother in law teaches 3rd grade, my mom is the study hall monitor and my aunt is an administrator in special education. My mom, sister and brother in law are all in the same building and my 2 high school daughters go there. I love it!

  6. I'd have to say my husband. He really is brilliant and just knows a lot of important knowledge of history, do it yourself stuff and life wisdom.

  7. My favorite educator is my husband.
He has taught our kids how to be considerate and responsible adults, and now they are all teaching their kids the same values he taught them.
