Tips For Fashion and Beauty on a Budget
Finding it hard to coordinate your wardrobe with a tight budget? While putting your face together to match your outfit may sound daunting, you don’t have to worry any more. The following tips should help guide you to keeping you fashion forward without breaking the bank.
One of my favorite handbags is made from seatbelts. This is my every day go to bag as it well goes with everything.
Beauty Tip 1: Less is more. Don’t cake on makeup, you only end up looking like a painted doll or a silly clown when you add it on too thick. Just a little here and there will make you stand out more and subtly is key.
Beauty Tip 2: Choose your basic colors. Basic colors can go with anything. Black eyeliner, light blush, and a good color of lipstick can go with just about any outfit and it won’t be overdone. Remember, your signature colors will never grow out of your style.
Beauty Tip 3: Wash your face. A clean face is a healthy face. If you let your make-up stay on too long or you don’t wash your skin, you will begin to look faded, aged, and your skin will lack a healthy glow. Many make-up brands now offer sensitive skin styles too!
Fashion Tip 1: Choose your basic colors. A perfect example is a little black dress. It will never go out of style, and adding a fun colored scarf or chunky belt can make it look like a whole new outfit without breaking the bank.
Fashion Tip 2: Choose a good pair of shoes and heels. A cute pair of heels or shoes in a versatile color will go well with just about anything. Choose a color that won’t damage easily if you are on the run (such as white, which shows scuffs and other wear). A slightly wider heel width will also give you stability if you are on your feet a lot.
Fashion Tip 3: Choose a versatile handbag. Every gal needs a handbag that can go with almost anything. Again, choose your own style, but choose something that can work with more than one or two outfits. A small handbag, or a chunky bag in a solid color (or two) can make a statement.
Statement Tip: Sales are your friend! Worried you’ll look cheap if you buy off the clearance rack? Don’t feel that way! You may even save enough that you can afford a second outfit without dipping into your savings!
Statement Tip: Don’t be afraid to go outside the box. Who says two colors don’t go together or that you can’t pair those shoes and that handbag with that dress? Make your own statement and stand out from the crowd. You are unique, so flaunt it!
Statement Tip: Remember, you are beautiful no matter what. You don’t need designer names, the newest clothing, or the latest in beauty trends to be beautiful.

I love the bag from seatbelts. I agree with your tips. I am always happy to get a great deal. I like buying basics and then adding something like a cool kimono or sweater or jewelry to take it to the next level.

Great tips, and I definitely concur about the black dress. I am not a small girl by any means and I appreciate the slimming affect that the little black dress gives me. It works wonders! 🙂

Some great tips here, I work in a college and I love seeing how the girls in the arts programme dress, mixing colours prints etc, even when I was younger I would never have dared dress like they do but they can really carry it off

I always tease my husband that I’m a cheap date. I’m really low maintenance. No or very little makeup, I don’t eat much and I don’t spend much money. Sometimes, I’ll buy myself something that I want, not often.

I totally agree with you, less is more when it comes to makeup. Some women in their 30’s are stuck in the 1980’s with the heavy blue eyeshadow and clown blush that isn’t blended, or even the proper shade. I don’t wear makeup at all, if I do it’s very little. You have some very good, sensible tips.

The seat belts would make a good real belt–just add a decorative buckle. Always can use fashion tips to save money.

I think less is more as you say. Everyone shouldn’t be afraid to wear a simple piece of clothing with a scarf, belt etc. to feel sensational.

Seat belt bags, who would have thought it?? Great idea! As for myself, I pretty much stick to neutrals, so that I can mix and match, and come up with all different outfits from the basics. I also stick with neutrals in makeup, too. Now that I think of it, I must look pretty boring!!!!

Thanks for the Fantastic Review on Tips For Fashion and Beauty on a Budget! These are some really terrific tips! Thanks so much for them! As you know, we are definitely on a budget and I haven’t purchased any new clothes in a long, long time! I generally carry a black handbag because it goes with everything and I love your ideas on makeup! Lately, we really haven’t gone anywhere where I need to be “beautiful” so I haven’t put on make up in a while (not since we buried my dad!) Whenever I do wear makeup, I always make sure that it’s all off before I go to bed! I make sure that my face is cleaned and refreshed! Thanks so much for sharing your fantastic review and your personal and professional opinions on Tips For Fashion and Beauty on a Budget with all of us! I truly do appreciate it! Great tips! Thanks again! Michele 🙂

With Pinterest, I’ve found several do it yourself hair and skin care recipes that save tons of money. I like being able to mix up my own conditioner. The stuff I normally use is pretty expensive.
