A Travel Budget Makes Travelling Abroad Possible for the Whole Family!
Find out why a travel budget should be the first think you look into before you plan your actual travels.
One of the many joys of having a family, is getting to see your children experience something for the very first time. My favorite, is taking them to places I love, and watch for the amazement in their eyes. Not only do I get to remember the feeling I had when I first visited, but selfishly, I get to feel like an awesome mom for being able to provide this for my kids.
Another great thing, is to have new adventures together. As you know, we have travelled a lot and I’ve posted about beach vacation ideas, and even shared some travel tips, but in this article, I will talk about the most important part of any travel planning, the travel budget!
When it comes down to it, the foundation for any successful vacation is the travel budget that forms the skeleton of the trip. You don’t need to be rich to travel the world, as long as you are informed on the cost of travel and plan accordingly.
It is important to pay attention to factors such as the average cost of living at your desired destination. Activity prices can vary depending on destination, as well as by season. Ensuring that you know when the peak seasons are, and aren’t, can make a big difference in affordability. I also recommend taking a look at area maps before you arrive, so you can plan transportation accordingly. Nothing feels worse than taking a cab to a destination you easily could have taken a scenic walk to, and it’s a needless burden on your travel budget too!
Every vacation is different, but there are some static rules when drafting up that initial travel budget. This infographic from the resources section of the Loan & Go website has a nice breakdown of certain things to consider during the destination choice phase of your trip planning.
