I confess before I was asked to do a review for the the Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil I had already been using coconut oil for over a year. I had switched to coconut oil after much personal research to find ways to eat and cook healthier and coconut oil kept popping up. I'm not going to get into all the details as to why it's excellent to cook with. Do some of the research and you'll see for yourself the multitude of reasons that switching to coconut oil is a good choice.

As mentioned I've been using coconut oil for over a year now and I love it. It's funny though that every time I would tell a friend or family member about it I would get looks of disbelief and of course the one question I always get is does it make everything take like coconuts? Absolutely not! In fact when my family didn't even know when I switched to coconut oil.
I was a bit sneaky about the switch I just started using it without telling my husband and daughter. I wanted to see if they even noticed and they didn't! Now does coconut oil have a taste? Well of course as does every oil out there and they all taste different from each other. It's so subtle though you might not taste it at all, it also depends on what you're cooking it with. The only time my family ever noticed a "taste" is when I made hashbrowns with coconut oil. It wasn't a bad taste but you just noticed it which they hadn't with any other food up until then. That's pretty darn good. It's absolutely wonderful for stir fry, sauteeing anything, pancakes and well everything.
In fact my daughter and all her friends rave about my pancakes that I cook in coconut oil. I seriously get these are best pancakes ever comment every time. It might have a little to do with the chocolate chips and the vanilla but they're whole wheat pancakes and I seriously started to get triple the compliments when I started using coconut oil.

I liked Tropical Traditions coconut oil as I can now see the difference between a high quality coconut oil and one of lesser quality when compared side by side. Tropical Tradition's looks smoother and was even more of a subtle taste, something I thought wasn't possible. I've been using the Tropical Traditions brand now for 2 weeks and am extremely happy with it. Tropical Traditions coconut oil gets a 2 thumbs up from Powered by Mom.
