Vlasic Pickles and Tasty Snack Choice
Have I ever mentioned how much I love pickles? Seriously I do, I put them in my grilled cheese sandwiches, any other kind of sandwich (okay maybe not PB&J), in potato salad and many other things. They just add a nice flavor and zing to so many meals.
In December I heard a lot of talk about new years resolutions. Everyone was gushing about what theirs would be for the coming new year. Saving more money, losing weight, maintaining a healthier lifestyle, spending more time with their children; these were all great goals that my friends and family discussed prior to January 1st. My goals were along similar lines and so far I think I’ve been doing pretty good. Unlike previous years where I’ve started slipping almost immediately, I’ve stuck to my resolutions with a determination that I’ve lacked in the past. One of my big resolutions was one that I’ve made every year that I’ve never been able to live up to: create and live a healthier lifestyle.
This one has always been tough on me. No matter what I’ve tried I can never make the time for exercising regularly or remember to make healthier eating choices but this year has been different. It’s been almost 3 months and I’ve been doing great. A big part of this is due, in large part, to making healthier snack choices. In the past I’ve always automatically reached for chips, snack cakes or other unhealthy options but now I can reach for low calorie, low fat foods like fruits and veggies without a problem. I’ve even found healthy chip options that I like too!
Savory snacks have always been my favorite to munch on throughout the day.
