With it’s vibrant pink box and clear view of the pet figurines, the girls were already super excited about it, even before opening it up. They had their favorite pet picked out within seconds, and couldn’t wait to play. They could see how the game would be set up on the front of the box, and realized quickly that this wasn’t just another board game. They worked together to get the “rooms” for the Pet Salon ready, and loved the different colored rooms with tons of detail in each. The game comes with 1 bottom board, 4 interlocking wall panels, 2 plastic wall braces, 4 pet movers, 1 spinner, 1 clock frame, 4 clock tiles, 49 Goodie Cards and instructions that are easy enough for a 6 year old to fully comprehend. The game is for 2-4 players, ages 3 and up.
Not only is this game really visually appealing, it’s super fun! The girls had no problem setting it up, and there was no reading required for them to play the game. Within 1 minute, they had it put together (which inspired teamwork!), and understanding the objective took about a minute more. They’re able to play on their own, without any help from mom. Since the boards are a sturdy, nice quality, I didn’t have to worry about them breaking or bending them in the wrong direction. Going into the different rooms to search and find matching cards was really exciting for them, and adore the plastic player pieces. These have really nice detail on them, and each pet “belongs” to a princess: “Pumpkin” is Cinderella’s dog, “Teacup” belongs to Belle, “Treasure is Ariel’s kitty cat, and “Berry” is Snow White’s pet bunny. The girls love having pets for their princesses and Barbies, so they’ll definitely use the figurines outside of playing the game, as well. The girls worked together to set the game up, and then took their turns, encouraging and helping each other play. That’s something I don’t see very often with board games for kids!
This is a fun and interactive game that’s great for any girl…whether she’s a princess lover or not. Alexa says, “I like it because it has a bunny, and her name is Berry.” Jorja says, “It’s easy peasy, lemon squeezy, and they are cute pets.” This game was a hit, and definitely something that any little girl would love to play!
