Believe it or not I’m actually quite familiar with wrought iron stair railings, aluminum railings, metal art, gates and oh so many of the terms that come with that particular industry.
Are you wondering how it’s possible that and why would know anything about that industry? My husband of course as he works for himself and part of what he does is installing wrought iron work, aluminum gates and so much more. Now he doesn’t make the railings and do all the fancy metal work like you see in the picture above. He works with specialize shops who do that type of work and he installs the finished product. He also installs automation for those big fancy wrought iron or aluminum gates you might see in the big upscale homes.
However, don’t think that those types of gates and railings are just for the rich and famous. Oh no us regular folks can have them too as depending on what works for you and your home they are a wonderful choice security wise (depends on your choice of course) and decoratively speaking. They are also not so high in maintenance, you get a good powder coating metal paint on there and have the paint shop put it on properly you will most likely never have to paint it again.
I love the fact that with metal railings of any kind you can be unique and that doesn’t mean fancy, you can select several designs and come up with your own unique design too. We have a metal railing in our home that I let the expert my hubby choose the design (one of the few things where I gave him design control lol and we have a simple, durable yet pleasing to the eye railing. We’ve now had it for 10 years and the black glossy paint on it has yet to chip or be scratched that’s how durable they can be. So if you’re considering any of the above think about looking into iron or aluminum, gates, fences or railings it’s worth taking a look at it.

I was compensated for this post but as always this did not influence my opinion.

I love the look of wrought iron. Its durability is one of those happy perks. We are re-doing the exterior of our home sometime in the next 2-3 years and part of the plan is to add wrought iron accents to the windows and an entry door/ gate. We are trying to give our home the look of a modern-day castle. It will take some time to complete it all… especially on our budget lol… but it will be worth it and iron will play a big part in achieving our desired look.
